Ronda got 90 thousand dollars for beating a bum.

wcoastassassin Says, in 2-27-2013 at 17:44:00 from

$1500 went to Villefort which means his original purse was $5000. This is pretty ridiculous being he probably had more than that in training expenses. Fighters need a union, I hate to say. This guy puts his livelihood on the line for a couple months rent and is probably lucky to get 3 fights in a year. This is not a way to treat professional fighters on the biggest stage.

fartnoise Says, in 2-27-2013 at 18:20:40 from

i’ll bet rousey took home triple that with the locker room bonus, and that carmouche was given a nice little bonus too

Hendo – Jones! I would still love to see that… it has to happen!

NotVinnieJones Says, in 2-27-2013 at 19:14:57 from

If these guys are walking into the octagon and fighting on fight night, then its obvious that they already agreed to fight for the amount they are getting. If they were as upset about their amount of pay as some people on here are then they just wouldn’t show up to fight and instead go off and go to school, get a job or whatever. No one’s holding a gun to any of these fighter’s heads and forcing them to fight for the amounts they are receiving. So since they are OK with what they are getting then its nothing I’m going to complain about on an internet post.

Lazer212 Says, in 2-27-2013 at 19:38:31 from

First off, Machida won that fight so people need to stop complaining. Secondly there’s some fighters on there that need to be making more money.

Everyone thinks they can run a business and a payroll better than the premier organization.

Everyone thinks payroll is some kind of moral obligation.

No one seems to understand how business and micro-economics work.

Dana white is a bum. I make more underground fighting then half of these guys. I feel for theses guys.

Coutura Says, in 2-27-2013 at 20:49:42 from

That is a shame ufc only paid carmouche 12.000 lol is that a joke my god how come this fighters managers alowed that big insult

shogunna Says, in 2-27-2013 at 21:21:10 from

If you guys paid attention you’d realize that those pay roll numbers are only for public view.
The main event fighters get paid alot behind closed door mostly by ppv shares.
For example when Rampage left the UFC recently Dana for the first time disclosed information about how much he earned from 2007-2012 which was 12 million. That’s what he made with the UFC not including anything outside UFC such as his movie roles.
If Rampage made 300k (which is the number shown in the pay roll for the public) a fight starting from his debut in 2007 thats 12 fights in the UFC. Rampage would of made 3.6 million and thats not taking inconsideration that he was probably paid alot less in few first fights.
So goes to show you that behind closed door he made at least (12mill-3.6mil) 8.4 million.
So you guys can stop saying these guys are getting paid dimes. As the years goes by these top fighters are only going to be getting paid more and more.
And we really don’t know how much the mid group level of fighters are getting paid behind closed doors as well but I’m sure if you look at Josh Koscheck he’s living pretty well if you checked out his MTV cribs.

Ozinator Says, in 2-27-2013 at 21:27:15 from

robbie got paid because he came from a place that paid him at least that much per fight

dub Says, in 2-27-2013 at 21:30:43 from

Machida could be much much more deadly if he just had more of an offense. Or in terms of his style, if he had more outburst attacks. I agree, he didn’t do much in this fight except a little in the 3rd round when he thought he was behind. I still give it to Machida though. He has the better chance against JJ.

rightsaysfred Says, in 2-27-2013 at 21:50:43 from

Could anyone explain the UFC’s ‘under the table’ policy to me? I suspect that these fighters are getting exploited.

Danby Says, in 2-27-2013 at 22:24:52 from

@rightsaysfred All i know is that Chael made enough money off the last anderson silva fight that he says he doesn’t have to fight anymore. Thats pure ppv and really he deserved it for that one. It was all him for those numbers.

PatrickN Says, in 2-27-2013 at 22:59:30 from

Why did Machida not get a win bonus

ThatDude Says, in 2-28-2013 at 00:16:41 from

I guess dana is trying to prove a point, But He should really keep all that stuff private. Let people say what they gonna say, Let people think how they wanna think, If you know your paying the fighters good than thats all that matters

MMAgiantsilva Says, in 2-28-2013 at 00:25:41 from

Am I the only one that caught Jay Jay’s comment. You do what? lmfao that was a good one. We have a legit Kimbo Slice in da house move over for da bad ass.

ThrowDownthenHoDown Says, in 2-28-2013 at 01:40:43 from

everyone seems to forget how much these guys make off sponsorship deals. but yeah, I hope they get a bit extra behind closed doors cos anything less than 20 grand for fighting in front of millions of ppl after months of training seems a little harsh…

Dave Says, in 2-28-2013 at 02:09:17 from

I think the lowest could anyone could get paid in the UFC should be at least 60 grand. these guys go to the gym full time, they still need to live! plus they might get injured for life at any moment its disgraceful to see some fighters get paid few grand it really is sad to see that.

UFC makes hundreds of millions and some fighters get paid almost nothing, something should be done this is not fair!
Dana tries to brag about it but its complete BS! unless the fighters in the UFC are the top few other wise they get paid disgraceful amount! shame on ufc!

TheKungFuLowKick Says, in 2-28-2013 at 11:07:40 from

UFC fighters get paid less then minimum wage and probably workout 70-80 hours a week. That’s almost a slave’s paycheck.A guy working in Mcdonalds gets around 1000$ a month and he works an easy job that a 12 years old could do and he only works 40 hours a week. It’s just pathetic if you ask me.If a guy is lucky and fights 4 times a year,he’ll have 20k if he’s lucky and doesn’t get injured and wins all his fights. Then you add taxes and you have barely 15k a year to pay you’re training, you’re house and you’re food. They would LOSE money fighting in the UFC if it wasn’t for sponsors…The Douchebag White gets some stupid stats about boxing showing undercard fighters getting paid the same as UFC fighters. But a low level UFC fighter is 1000 times more skilled and twice as ranked as an undercard boxer.Plus boxing doing something doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do.

TheKungFuLowKick Says, in 2-28-2013 at 11:13:04 from

We already know that superstars like Rampage make millions. If you read the posts you would see people are saying UNDECARD fighters are not paid enough. And I HIGHLY doubt an undercard fighter gets PPV bonuses…

TheKungFuLowKick Says, in 2-28-2013 at 11:14:20 from

Plus the undercard fighters have to fight twice as many times and probably train as hard then top fighter. And they ALL train harder then Rampage…

TheKungFuLowKick Says, in 2-28-2013 at 11:17:27 from

Their policy is they give undisclosed PPV % to The Main event and co-main event fighters.Still it just gives more money to guys who already got paid decently while undercard fighters are still getting paid like s***.Plus Douchey White NEVER gives fight of the night, sub of the night or Ko of the night to undercard guys…

failsonnen Says, in 2-28-2013 at 11:31:35 from

That’s s*** payout numbers for a main event woman or not

gogators Says, in 2-28-2013 at 12:36:37 from

If you knew a waitress at a restaurant was making $21 dollars an hour to wait tables would you tip her? No you tip them because there pay per hour is less then minimum wage and they make their money by Tips. If the UFC did not allow fighters to have sponsors during the event then yes UFC should pay more. But MMA fighters in the UFC look more decked out then a nascar. Pro Boxers have no sponsors on them during the event so the promoter has to pay more for this lack of “tips”

Adonis Says, in 2-28-2013 at 13:56:21 from

@shogunna is right, the undisclosed amounts for the PPV’s i usually double if not more than the fight purse, that’s why Rampage made so much money was because he headlined a lot of PPVs. This isn’t even mentioning sponsorships which can be very lucrative.

Carmouche made more that night than her last two years working in that gym.

Tear Says, in 3-1-2013 at 01:13:46 from

Carmouche got paid plenty. She did fight for the title.. of a shallow division.
If she was a man with her fighting skills, she would never have made it in the ufc. She would be considered a nobody and make 500 dollars a fight.
