With your explenation,weed can only be a PED if you smoke right before the fight.He had cameras on him and people around him all day at the UFC so he didnt smoked there.That means Diaz had no effect ebnifiting him because weed only has effects for 2 hours max.4 if you never smoke.Did he smoke 2-4 hours before the fight,no so he didnt had an advantage.Thats the big difference between weed and the rest of the PEDs.Weed only works for 4 hours but stays in your system for 30 days so testing it as a performance enhancing drug is ridiculous.

@Halcyon<br

Why is Ronda Lousey opposed to screening for highly infectious, potentially lethal diseases that can also be transmitted sexually? How is protecting un-infected athletes from illness a constitutional violation of privacy? Are we to believe she would like to compete against people who might potentially have something like Hepatitis?Weed can be a performance enhancer as can many ADHD Medications. PEDs aren't just steroids! Lousey clearly doesn't get this. Not all banned substances are banned because of a performance enhancement aspect. I'm pretty sure Cocaine (snorted throughout training camp) isn't going to provide you with a decisive advantage over your opponent (it's very bad for your heart), but it is still a banned substance.We should also remember just because we have a prescription for a drug doesn't mean that it is automatically legal in our chosen sport. Think of the previously mentioned ADHD medication or Nate The Great's TRT issues. It is even worse in this case considering the specific prescription Diaz has is only legal in CA and possibly Oregon not Nevada. Even non-prescription drugs are subject to this kind of thing for years you could buy Andro at any GNC but you couldn't use it in most sports. In fact there are still plenty of supplements you can buy without a prescription that are banned in MMA. Look at KING MO he is a perfect example.Why is this only now a problem for Nick? He has been doing this for years and been completely open about it. There is nothing private here. He is only complaining about the rule because he got caught. It wasn't a problem before when he openly explained how he purged it out of his system prior to fights.The commission has made it clear it is only an issue if they catch him and Diaz, over the last 5 years has been clean at fight time. That is a pretty lax approach on the part of the commission. He was playing with fire and he got burned. Why would anyone have sympathy for him? He is lucky to have gotten this far. Nobody cares if Nick Diaz smokes weed including the commission, the commission does however care if he smokes as preparation for his fights (granting him a potential PED effect). How has Ronda Lousey gotten this far in life and not figured out that life is filled with subtlety?

Wow, Rousey just demonstrated for everyone why she makes a living with her fists and not her 3 brain cells.

Competitors are screened for some STD deseases like Hepatitis (which can be a sexually transmitted disease). @Tankless - I smoke it too, and what you just mentioned is a huuuuuuuge exaggeration. Just as much as it can "enhance" your brain work, it can worsen your physical performance - your body cannot do what your brains wants it to do for example. I also noticed that I'm more relaxed and loose, but also can get a bit paranoid out there. The fact that something is good for solving complicated philosophical issues and makes you think clearer, especially enhances your abstract thinking, doesn't mean that it will enhance your performance in the cage. Depends on the individual - for most it will slow their reactions and make more lazy. It's pretty stupid discussion. You have a lot of plants and substances that can enhance your performace and are legal, it's just that the military/banking complex running government doesn't want people to smoke. There is nothing more to it - rest is pure bs.

Ronda Rousey is right:) I hope she stays this way…<br

Regardless, I have had an on and off relationship with cannabis, martial arts, and body building. Let me tell you, when I'm getting familiar with weed, I'm not feeling all that up to engaging in martial arts or body building. These athletes must have some hardcore dedication and commitment, because when I get high, I'd rather play video games and eat junk food than fight and run and lift weights. Marijuana slows reflexes, decreases brain activity, increases blood pressure, and speeds up metabolism, temporarily. If I smoked a bowl right now, in 6 hours, that intake would have absolutely zero effect on my physical or intellectual function. So no, tankless, if Nick Diaz was clean for 10 days, it absolutely had no effect on his fight performance vs condit. And though I understand he didn't fight in California, as mentioned above, he could have gotten high in California, and tested positive for THC in Nevada 3 days later. I agree with kungfu that it is absurd that a fighter can say "I'm getting older, and don't produce as much testosterone as I used to, so I can legally inject steroids, which absolutely enhances my physical performance by A LOT, as long as I have a permit" BUT diaz says "I have a legal permit to smoke weed, it has a negligible effect on my training, and no effect on my ability when I walk in the cage, but you're going to suspend me and try and shame me for it." Because that's how it really is.

Tankless, perhaps your brain is thinking three steps ahead of your fingers, too.
