great fight! i thought mayhem did more damage and jacare seemed to begin to gas at the end but i can see the decision going to jacare who outwrestled and outworked mayhem on the ground

Seemed like Mayhem gave up on all his sub attempts. The fight went to the winner, it’s true. I dislike that show boating shit at the end, though. At least we were spared his “caymen clap” or whatever the fuck that is

These are the toughest opponents for Mayhem, as he’s just too easy to takedown! Towards the end though, he did look better, particularly on his feet, but that was likely the result of Jacare tiring and Mayhem’s great conditioning.

The submission attempt by Jacare was funny. He was straining and putting forth effort to submit Mayhem and just when you think that Mayhem may be in trouble, he looks directly at the ref/the cam and smiles with that shitty grin, putting his thumb up, signaling “I’m okay”. Even the virtually silent Japanese crowd responded with laughter and applause.

Mayhem suffers from the same problems as Diego Sanchez and Nick Diaz: well-rounded skills, but can be bullied by bigger, stronger guys.

That’s some world class grappling from Jacare. I’m surprised Mayhem didn’t just wanna stand up when he had top position and try to win the standup battle.

Awesome fight! Jacare deserved to win I think, but only cz he got the first 10min round, second round I give to Mayhem…actually anyone know if the judges score the rounds with equal points or maybe the first is a count to 20 or smth?

Jacare totally gassed at the end..I am still amazed he managed to get the takedowns so easily though!

Great display ground skills from both fellas. Mayhem just doesn’t have the genetic strength Jacare holds, even when Jacare is gassed. I, and im sure others, am a little confused as to why Mayhem didnt want to stand more when given the oppurtunity. Thanks for the post fellas.

Mayhem needs to work more on his take down defense. If he just stuffed a few more of those take downs by Jacare he would have had a chance to win as he was doing pretty well on the stand up.

It’s ridiculous how some organizations still uses the ring for MMA bouts. Rings are for stand up fighting like boxing, kickboxing, etc. Cages eliminate the chance for fighters to fall out, stoppage in action because the fighters are to far to the edge (no edge in cages), and the need for those darn ring jockeys that hold the ring and slap fighters hands when they grab on.

I like Miller but he must’ve stopped about 3-4 more take downs just by grabbing the ropes. I’m surprised that no one has said anything about this yet. Also, the ropes were helping Jason relieve the pressure to the heel hooks. Nonetheless, impressive sub-defense by Miller though.

I went to one of Jacare’s seminars and that guy is a beast! mad props to mayhem for making Jarace work like that cuz i don’t think people realize how huge Jacare is, not to mention he’s a 5 time world BJJ champion for a reason
