Ian Murphy is a lamb led to the lion of BJJ- Jacare. He had absolutely no chance on the ground. Bad matchup for a guy who’s just starting his mma career. Ian’s manager should be fired. But then again, maybe the money is too good to pass up.

Did I read that right? Murphy’s record was 0-0. Was that his pro debut?

Wow, ten minute rounds. BBJ guys must love that. I like how the whole crowd knew what was up when he grabbed that arm.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen knees to the head like that. Damn.
Get a cage Dream management.

Ian was a beast in D1 college wrestling and 1st in the nation for his weight in greco and freestyle! he needs just to expand into bbj some more! keep an eye on him! he trains with Tito Ortiz

Jacare acted like a total douche after the fight. He doesn’t have a lot to brag about for beating a guy who’s never fought professionally.

And Zescape, it’s not fair to compare BJJ to wrestling. In wrestling you pin your opponent, not break his arm or choke him. That’s why wrestlers get caught so much, they don’t train against those moves so they don’t know what to do in those situations. It’s apples and oranges, neither is better per say, it’s just whatever you’re used to. And this is coming from someone who has experience in both.

Landowner, why get a cage? I think they’re doing fine and one the right track to bring what was great about Pride back. What I WOULD like to see is a Dream/WVR merger!

Viking, I just think cages work better for MMA. You don’t see it in this fight but I’ve seen plenty of Pride matches where they have to drag the fighters to the center or grab them before they fall out. I love all MMA and don’t care who is producing it. You can see a lot better with the ring tho. And it makes it easier to allow stomps and knees to downed opponents.

landowner is right by far.
i fuckin hate the ropes. the cage works so much better in mma. i dont understand why u would think that ropes are superior. how many times do the fighters get tangled in those damn things. i get so frustrated watchin when the ropes get in the way. i couldnt imagine how pissed the fighters get when the ropes fuck their attacks or their advantage.
viking, it was the fighters that made pride, not the stupid ass ropes.
everybody just needs to give in to the cage.

Cages always favor wrestlers, since they can just push them against the cage and get the take down eventually. Also you cant see as clear. I love rings, it pushes the action more too as you cant run away as easily as in an octagon ala Kalib Starnes.

Man dpeng, u are right about kalib, but he will never fight again in the ufc, but the cage is superior just becuase there isnt as many referee interferences. they can just duke it out, u need to learn how to handle being pushed against something, not just put ur head as far out as possible to get the fight stopped. Dont get me wrong i think the pride rules for fighting were better. i would love to see w. silva be able to stop heads, and throw massive knees to the heads. but ufc is trying to become an all out sanctioned sport

How about Pride rules elbows, 10-5-5 rounds, and the YAMMA surface?

With Randy and Fedor, of course ;)
