I remember watching this one live and thinking it was fixed. I just watched it again and I still think it was. I don’t think Rich knew, but Shamrock intentionally went down twice, and that second time he easily rolled onto his back and didn’t cover his face, hoping to get pounded out in an exciting finish. He wasn’t hurt when he went down, so there’s no excuse for not protecting himself. Franklin was the up-and-comer at the time, too.

This was the rise of Franklin, who IS one of the best fighters at 185 but he just can’t seem to beat Silva. It’ll be interesting to see how well he’ll do againt Henderson back at 205.

the rise and fall of 2 great UFC fighters.it was Rich’s last fight at Lhwt,after that he dropped down to Mwt and had a nice run as the champion.that is until he ran into the Spider Anderson Silva.
it also marked the decline of a legend in Ken Shamrock.it’s too bad that he didn’t ever stop his downward spiral.

this fight wasn’t fixed. ken clearly slipped doing a high kick, and rich capitalized on it. younger, stronger, faster. thats how it goes.

It was a slip - Ken put all this body weight into that kick and his leg just went with the momentum from under him. It was just a sloppy move. But could it have been a wet patch?

everything is fixed according to alot of the post her, i think that you guys should go watch boxing or better yet american gladiators. ken was out manned end of story. ken is past his prime here and rich is coming into his,seem pretty simple to me. and did anybody think that maybe ken needed to get paid so he took a fight he thought he really couldent win. sure sounded like it to me in the pre fight interview with ken.

ANYONE who saw the slow motion Gif of the slip, you can see that ken went in, saw a fist and went to move and his left foot buckled causing his toes to grip the ground, and roll up and make him unable to use the foot and offered him only 2 options, get punched in the face or fall backwards.

there is no way a ufc fight is ever fixed there too hard core and u fake taking a kick to the head u cant really trust me i know
