Rich Franklin Vs. Cung Le At UFC 148 On July 7th

Former UFC middleweight champ Rich Franklin will return to 185 and battle former Strikeforce middleweight champion Cung Le at UFC 148. UFC.com broke the news yesterday.


Franklin has not seen action in over a year, when he lost a decision to Forrest Griffin at UFC 126. Ace had planned on fighting Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC 133, but a last minute injury forced the bout to be dropped. Soon after that, Rich injured his shoulder and had surgery in October. This will be his first middleweight fight in almost four years, with his last outing being a win over Travis Lutter at UFC 83.

both guys have had their noses busted so bad, i predict this will be the battle of the busted noses! Someone is getting their nose reconstructed……AGAIN….Rich Franklin’s body kicks are nice, and he fakes one to the body and then goes to the head, it could lights out in China town…..or we could see Cung Le do one of the most movie-esque, high-light reel kick finishes ever..(or in phil baroni voice- EVAH!)

This is probably the best match up these two could find. Awesome fight without much consequences to the division. Perfect for veterans just trying to get amazing fights.

franklin dont stand a chance, clearly he needs money, otherwise its a dumb move, he cant beat cung, terrible match u and on top of it,terrible match up for him, cung could really hurt him , injure him i mean.

I dont like this matchup because Franklin can fight at 205 and I feel that Cung Le needs to drop to 170 because he looks flabby and slow at 185

If you asked me prior to his loss against old man Silva I would bet my bottom dollar Cung could take Ace…Now that I saw Cung is in it for the $$$ and not taking the fight seriously, Ace will walk away with the W by decision.

@ Fedor I respectfully disagree. Cung went for the kill when he thought he had it. Then got his face smashed all to hell and continued to fight. Old man Silva is still W. Silva and f**k he would kill most people when he’s 70. That said I do think Ace takes it by decision..

I disagree.I like Cung alot more then Franklin but Rich is a tough matchup for Cung.Franklin beat Silva who recently beat Cung Le.And Cung had bad cardio his last fight and Franklin has a really good cardio.If it’s 5 rounds Rich has even more chances to win.So saying he has no chance is completly false.
