So that’s what happens to Mayorga when he’s not fighting a guy with 4 times more losses then wins? At least he didn’t cheat this time.

Gotta say a lot of people called this. Not really a great idea for boxers to do MMA if they have developed 0 ground game.

Good thing he didn’t fight Din Thomas way back like he was supposed to. If Level Martinez handled him that easy wow I cant even imagine the hurting a skilled MMA fighter like Din would have done.

He actually did show SOME ground skills. He was bumping hips pretty well and did manage to get on his feet. It’s really hard to be cognizant of every single aspect of a fight. Struggling to get back to your feet while simultaneously defending strikes and subs.

No boxer stands a chance in MMA, not even GOATS like Ali or Tyson.

They give him Level for his first fight LOL!! Come on!!

He would have won if he knew how to properly set up the choke. His right arm was no where it should have been

He panicked and tapped out. That guillotine was on for all of one second.

lol @ failsonnen….that was a failcomment. Or maybe you meant to put ‘leg’ instead of ‘arm’.

Generally it’s pretty safe to say you can’t finish the guillotine if the guy has you in side control… as was the case in this fight. Twas not an issue of where it right arm was, but more an issue of where his right leg was.

El matador used to be a terryfying fighter, he wasn(t the most gifted but he was a tough guy and a very agressive fighter.
He used to be in many wars and he is washed up now.And MMA is so different .He had the guts to go to MMA where a boxer has almost no chance if he didn’t train in MMA
If jackson goes to boxing he will easily be beaten the same way even versus an old and washed up roy jones.
As a boxer, MMA and boxing are too different. If Dos santos thinks he can beat any top 50 in boxing he will take a serious beating
And on the contrary any boxing champ can compete againt any top 50 in MMA
stop anatagonizing the 2 disciplines;it is not the same thing

smokin joe Says, in 7-29-2013 at 06:06:43 from

I meant any boxer CAN’T compete against any top 50 in MMA

@Beast w/ 8 Limbs – You are right he did have some ground skills unlike what the guy above you posted. It will take time to get better if ricardo wants to.

shocktime Says, in 7-29-2013 at 16:44:41 from

Not comparing the two just telling it like it is. The MMA guy is going to destroy the boxer in a street fight 9 out of 10 times. Only because being well rounded in 5+ disciplines is better than being great at 1. I rather speak 5 different languages good Vs just english great. Know what I’m saying?
