I’ve grappled in my living room with my buddies so many times I can’t even count.I even bought a mat that fits in my living room.And only once somebody went out because he told me all this crap(sumbission grappling) doesn’t work.So I got the triangle,he didn’t tapped,I felt he become limp and let the choke go.It was the only time somebody went out and it’s because he was too stupid to tap.Of course we were not dumb WWE fans grappling either.I blame stupidity for that death.1st in wrastling.they always fake the submissions,especially the chokes so the guys don’t pass outy and they get to act like dramatic ididots liftling their arms to show they are ok.So these 2 thought it was the same,that it took 1 minutes to choke someboody out like in the WWE.Ididots…

This kind of tragedy occurs when these young guys do these dangerous moves without the proper training. Very sad.
I’m not saying this to be insensitive, but i’m glad this happened during a WWE event and not MMA because that would have set back MMA so much

It’s sad it happens. Properly trained kids with BJJ are very safe. While the rear naked, triangle (no head pull down), cross choke, and a few others are allowed, they do not allow guillotine chokes until they are 14+. It’s too dangerous.

Yeah ok KungfuLowkick, first off you did exactly what this video warns of, and second, a lot of the moves you see in the WWE are real holds, simulated from catch wrestling, which is very real. Real wrestling(not scholastic, which is dumbed down for safety) has been around for centuries, and is very real, works, and many consider it better that jitz. I would personally love to break all your limbs and submit you with a simple chicken wing, can opener, or whatever while you try and use your jitz unsuccessfully.
Oh and why don’t you see but a few people use catch wrestling in MMA? Because most moves are too dangerous for an opponent, hence too effective, and illegal.
These guys are a class act. The best. We need more people in the world like them.
I’m just glad it happened during a Wrestlemania get together, and not a UFC! They would’ve blamed it on the UFC and brought so much stupid negativity to the sport, wanting to ban it (again), etc…

By wrastling I meant WWE.In the WWE the holds aren’t put correctly so the guys don’t get hurt.Thats what I was saying.I know wrestling is real.I’ doing sumbission grappling for almost 5 years now I think I know what I’m doing.You are just too pent-up that you can’t read correctly.And almost everytime we rolled it was with my buddies who did some judo or some guys I train with.You could try to submit me but i doubt you would with a chicken wing or a can opener.

Rear Naked Choke (RNC) Footnotes:
+ A proper RNC will render a person unconscious within 7-10 seconds by restricting the blood flow to the brain – NOT the air flow to the lungs. A person will continue to breath even while the choke is being applied (a choke as opposed to a strangle cuts off the blood supply – not the air supply).
+ A person will continue to breath after they have passed out – breathing is an automatic bodily function. Breathing and chest movement is NOT a good indicator of whether a person is unconscious.
+ An unconscious person can still retain tension and rigidity within their muscles – an unconscious person does NOT automatically go limp. As such, muscle rigidity (e.g. a hand grabbing an arm to defend the choke) is NOT a good indicator of whether a person is unconscious.
+ Ocular fixation is a symptom of unconsciousness – the eyes remain open and fixed on a point in space, they do not track motion.
+ The Rule of 10: If you are applying a RNC and the person does not tap out within 10 seconds – release the choke. This is because either the choke is not being applied properly, or they have lost consciousness and cannot tap.
+ Know how to tap: You can tap with your hands OR your feet (especially important if your hands are entangled)! Always tap more than twice (preferably 3 or more times with emphasis) to ensure that the person applying the choke notices. You can tap on the person’s body OR on the mat. There is no shame in tapping. Every black belt has tapped thousands of times in training.
+ Have fun and be safe. You should be training to learn, and not to injure. That means looking out for your partner, and your partner looking out for you.
