Renato Sobral (37-9-0) vs Mikhail Zayats (19-6-0) was part of the quarterfinal in the Bellator light heavyweight tournament.
End of the old timers now, sad day
That was awesome.
spoiler alert.
That might be my favorite type of fight. Lasts one good round, with a spectacular finish near the end of the round, lasts just under 5 minutes, perfect for my american short attention span, and fighters are still fresh and crisp (not sloppy yet).
Watching fights like these kind of feels like a guilty pleasure
Pugilistic dementia is most certainly in Sobral’s future.
Good ole Sobral still fighting the good fight, fighting to stay conscious. Truly is sad when someone’s jaw is gone and they continue to strive to be a champ no one has the heart to tell them it will never happen.
not sure how you can say his jaw is gone. not many fighters can take a clean spinning backfist and then solid clean shots on the ground like that. he never even went unconscious. hardly a suspect chin.
by no chin he means absolute 0 defense in striking
sobral gets hit in the chin alot he probably could take it when he was younger but not anymore.
would’ve dropped a horse
I hate seeing ground guys test their standup.
Don’t get why he still tries to stand with people,,,
let’s hope Gonzaga doesn’t do the same thing w/ his upcoming fight against Rothwell….not sure why guys w/ awesome ground games try to keep the fight standing….makes no sense..
I need to agree with Babalu’s daughter: it’s time to retire.
Yep, time to retire ..Past his prime long time ago
Time for Babalu to call it a day.
Good, Renato is a POS, glad he got finished.
My word…Bellator has shamelessly copied to commentary style of Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan
