That is one of the first things any BJJ Instructor will teach the noobs. This is no secret. Keep those hooks in but don’t get them too close.

I was getting worked by a wrestler in a submission grappling match one time. He had my back and thankfully crossed his legs. When I do this move though I only use the leg that is one the same side as his top foot crossed and sweep my leg over it. Same outcome. Great tip on keeping your hands up though.

a lot of flexible fighters cross ankles like that and nothinh happen…..bj penn always does that and some fighters, ala hughes, try to go 4 that move and didnt result at all….sweat and flexibility and that move doesnt work at all

Yeah I learnt this the hard way a few weeks ago. Even the body lock has a counter like this unless you hide your foot behind their back. Ps. yeah you’ll tap alright, this s*** hurts like hell!
