UFC Fight for the Troops MMA video of Razak al-Hussan Vs. Steve Cantwell.
if (is_feed()) { die(); }
HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that was just nasty, i still can’t believe that dude.
this kid has zero class with both his comments and antics after the fight. what a prick. we have so many honorable warriors fighting in the ufc -let alone the LHW division- to watch and they are always sure to carry and show that honor to both the sport and their opponents. it will be a pleasure to watch steve cantwell get brought down to size by individuals who know and live the respect it takes to show great fortitude in the world of mixed martial arts.
hes tough but he wasnt thinking
Wow! This fight made me sick to my stomach at the end… Look at Hussans face when the ref is over top of him, he is about to pass out!! Great arm bar! This was one of the most brutal fight cards I’ve seen in a few years, great free entertainment:)
What the hell was Razak thinking? His arm was fully extended and he had sooo long to tap. I can’t watch that stuff. It makes my hair stand on end. Why the hell didn’t he tap?!??! Ugh…
what did he say?
Yea man..this fight card was violent. From the Kos KO to this disturbing arm bar.
I like Steve Cantwell from his WEC days on Versus. He’s got madd skills. But, those were just classless post fight comments saying he always wanted to break a guy’s arm. I train Jits, and I’d personally feel like sh*t if I was responsible for another guy’s broken arm and possible end of his career.
However, Razak was a freggin idiot for trying to be a super hero and not tapping. He didn’t have enough sense to recognize his bad position and paid the ultimate price. Jits is no joke.
I agree with arthurzero… that guy is an asswipe that gives mma athletes a bad name. He straight up admitted that he wanted to maim someone. That’s just sick and malicious imo. There’s a difference between wanting to fight to COMPETE against the best as a means of showing mutual respect and athletic ability, and fighting to injure and belittle people. That’s the difference between professional athletes and idiots like him. Disgusting.
Who cares if he “always wanted to do that”? The comments didn’t bother me. I take it as having a killer instinct. Some fighters get off on hurting their opponent. It is the other fighters responsibility to tap and the guy didn’t. So, you get a broken arm. Next time, the dumbass will use his head.
cantwell managed this fight very well.
shut your mouth mr rogers. we need more guys in mma like cantwell whos goal it is to really hurt an opponent. this makes for more violent fights and therefore more entertaining fights
If you guys thought that was bad check out the Cory Hill fight… Its just about as bad but you see two class act fighters
Razak is a garbage fighter… Wtf? How the hell is he going to come into a fight with just TKD experience. Lol, what a joke. He probably didn’t even know what a “tap” was.
Cantwell’s comments may have been out of line but he won the fight and didn’t do anything illegal. He went in and did his job well, MMA isn’t a personality contest either, it’s a fight. Again, maybe his comments were out of line but it doesn’t really bother me that much, Afro should have tapped….
How about Cantwell vs. Anderson Silva next time Silva fights at 205. Let’s see who gets hurt in that one…
…and he has a fantastic afro hahaha gota love joe rogan
OK, being ‘tough’ is one thing, being STUPID is another. when he SHOULD have realized he was OUTCLASSED in this fight, and then is compromised into a DEEP armbar, FUCKIN’ TAP HERO!!!! He’ll have a LOOOOOOOONG time to review that poor decision… Cantwell, well, He is still pretty young, and someone needs to let him know that being a classless asshole WILL be as quick a way OUT of the UFC as telling Dana to “Kiss My Ass”….
Steve is actually a very humble guy. Fighting is a sport where you are actually trying to hurt your opponant. It isn’t like football or baseball where hoping an opponant gets hurt is bad sportsmanship.
While in “training” you are not supposed to hurt the guys you roll with.
“fighting” you are suppossed to go in with bad intentions…either that or be a pussy and lose!
If the guy doesn’t tap that’s his fualt. Nothing a cast and 8 weeks wont take care of.
great fight cant wait to see cantwell fight again
Making fun of “tough guys” who would rather get broken or put to sleep rather than tap isn’t classless it’s funny. If fighters aren’t supposed to want to hurt their opponents I guess they should only throw strikes with half power then eh? On second thought that might not be a bad idea for Corey Hill when he kicks
nice use of a technical arm bar
serious joelee???
“this makes for more violent fights and therefore more entertaining fights”
If you want violence, go watch Kimbo’s street fights on youtube you f*cking noob. Any idiot can senselessly beat the crap out of someone- that’s not entertainment. I’d rather see a great display of athleticism, than mindless violence. I guess that’s the difference between you and me.
What happened was not Cantwell fault. It was the fault of the match-makers, that clearly showcast a guy that has not the level, perhaps looking for an spectacular “finale”. Al-Hussan didn’t tap, and even he started to armbar himself with his own right leg.
And that’s why you “TAP”…
There’s no shame is tapping, but there is shame in getting an arm broken for not tapping’
cantwell said in a post fight interview something about him wanting to break someone’s arm like that for 5 years. what a piece of shit person! not breaking Razak’s arm, but for saying that he wanted that to happen.
more violent mma fights means ufc will soo go to underground AGAIN!! and you know what happens to underground sports they dont get permissions from the high authorities to make an event in any city of america or even overseas.
joelee, you have pretty much surrendered your intelligence with that silly fucking statement. you want gratuitous violence then you should plant your lame ass down to watch the wwe because they offer what you are looking for. clearly you do not practice any kind of martial art because if you have your instructors would have drained that attitude from your flabby vessel before they’d give you the privlage of sweating on their mats. and to the rest of the detractors; my argument was not in defense of razak al-hassan. he didn’t tap, got his arm snapped…case fucking closed. how can you garner any respect by jumping around the cage in glee that you snapped someone’s limb. i think it shows lengths more toughness to respect that man who displays warrior spirit by holding on and saying he’d rather have his arm broken then surrender. if nogeira gets caught in a joint submission by frank mir and doesn’t tap i’m sure someone here will be singing a different tune because “it is big nog”.
Well, I suppose if you have Condom Depot in bold letters across your ass……you feel you have something to prove…..like your manhood.
lets be honest people this is not damn water polo or figure skating. Some of these guys are in there to really hurt people…and thats their job!! If buddy didnt tap then thats his fault, a fighter fights until the ref stops it not a moment sooner.
dude tap it’s your career at stake!
There is a fine line between toughness and stupidity. It wasn’t like time was running out or he had an opportunity to escape. If you want to preserve your career, tap out and learn from your mistake. I don’t think al-Hazan will be back in the UFC. Cantwell, on the other hand, is legit.
see, now this thing is way out of context. the statement was never about fault…it was about STATEMENT. who gives a fuck if the guy tapped or didn’t, not my even close to my point. i was talking about dipshit statements made by said fighter. you guys started an entirely new thread. sorry about the confusion.
Totally Razak’s fault. Cantwell is a fighter, not a pr guy. Of course he has wanted to break someone’s arm, he gets paid to beat up people for a living and enjoys it. He had multiple opportunities to tap and didn’t. Furthermore, it was obvious he had no ground skills. This wasn’t Rich Franklin rolling out of an armbar and trying to get a little more space to escape. This was a newbie being stubborn, refusing to tap. That’s what Jiu-jitsu is FOR. To BREAK things. I don’t think Cantwell should feel guilty for his actions or his comments.
MMA will not go underground tards. This will soon be forgotten. There’s too much money in it now, and the politician’s desire to have the soapbox on an issue will be counteracted by public opinion on this one. It is no longer advantageous to actively oppose MMA.
Cantwell is a young kid. He doesn’t know all the PR angles. He trains to bust heads and snap limbs. So what if he’s not smart enough to sugar coat it in an interview after the fight. Cantwell was excited and spoke the truth. Props to Steve in my IMO. I’ve met Steve and he is very humble. They don’t train half ass to go half way. He’s trained to be a bad ass tough guy and inflict pain. His trainers want his opponants to one day feel like Mike Tysons opponants did and be scared shitless when they step in the ring with him. Steve is a good kid and has an amazing future in MMA.
T-A-P O-U-T!!!!!
….dammit
I think the division he’s in will certainly avenge his classless comments after. I don’t know what happens to Afro but he wasn’t bad in the ring either. His kicks and over all aggressiveness were working and his ground game doesn’t. All in all he really should have tapped but maybe he does kick himself free if the arm wasn’t broken. Armbar was too deep… person was looking to break an arm in his career… bad luck…
While I think his comments were tasteless I still like honesty. It’s still what seperates MMA from the other mainstream sports where they have to say the right thing all the time.
Hard not to look down on Cantwell as a person considering how he mocked the fact he broke a guy’s arm. Cantwell as a fighter did nothing wrong and it was the responsibility of the other fighter to tap, so I don’t fault him for that. However, to run around making fun of a guy who is laying there looking at months of not fighting if not his career is classless.
Again … EARLY STOP!!!
That dude could have used the broken arm like a bungee club and finished off Cantwell. He never tapped.
Was just a flesh wound!
For all of you morons who think Cantwell is a jerk.. It is a battle in this sport, the dumbass didnt tap, what the F?? Of course it is bad to see a guys arm snap, but tap out meat. Cantwell is a super mellow cool guy. I think anyone who fights wants to see what it would be like to break a guys arm or leg, or jaw, cause at this level that kida sh.it doesnt happen to ofter cause fighters know when to give up when they are beat. I think it is great that jackoff got his arm snapped. It might teach him a lesson for next time. Cantwell is the real deal and will be a up an comer in 09.
