| Rashad Evans has been moved from the UFC 84 fight card to now fight Chuck Liddell in London, England on June the 7th. |  |
This light heavyweight bout came together shortly after the UFC announced the injury to Shogun Rua. Evans was thought to have signed on a deal to fight Thiago Silva but the UFC has the power to change fights for their better at the drop of a hat and that was that.
A source close to Evans says the agreement has been made but the deal has not yet been signed by both fighters.

Chuck Liddell’s gonna whoop some ass. I’m not a big Chuckie fan, but Rashad’s boring so most likely he’s gettin ko’d. Just my opinion everyone.

This is coming from a big Iceman fan,.. but dont count out rashad too badly. The guy has great wrestling skills, and its just overall a great athlete. I think Chucks hands are a little too much for him though, because they come from crazy angles. Rashad will come to fight, but also remember that Chuck finished Tito TWICE. I dont think Rashad even had Tito close to TKO. Rashad has increased his cardio trememndously recently, so Chuck needs to make sure he’s in top shape, and doesn’t take it like he did the Jardine fight.

this will be the fight that will show how good evans really is. but before we all start thinking about the chuck of old who destroys wrestlers, evans has made a caree of defining odds and if chuck doesnt bring his a game he could be smothered by evans relentlise game. also evans standup game is allways imporving, if chuck takes him fo granted it could end badly

Guys, I dont know, I think rashad might win this. I really do. rashad has shown improvement on every fight he has fought in. For him to accept a fight with liddell I expect to see a huge improvement. Dont count him out. the guy who said that rashad is boring is nuts. He had one of the best knock outs last year with the kick to the head.
Rashad has a better chance to take Chuck down than Tito. The only way I see Evans winning is by laying on Chuck for 3 rounds. I think Chuck is gonna catch on a takedown in the first. But this could be interesting.
remeber.. rashad out striked jardine.. rashad is a great fighter.. and his striking is wrestling is very good… he hasnt been knocked out yet.. not even hurt badly in a fight soo even though liddel is the KO master i dont see rashad being knocked out.. if rashad wins it will be a 3rounder.. but i wouldnt be suprized is rashad catched liddel

GO CHUCK! Chuck will hand Rashad his loss and move on to fight Rampage for a title shot. As much as I LOVE Chuck, he probably will lose that one…again.

I hope we don’t forget that Chuck is a wrestler too. He’s supposed to have fantastic takedown defense. If he starts taking people down and pounding them, we may have a rejuvenated Iceman.
I like both fighters, but I think I like Chuck better. I’ll enjoy this. As long as they battle.

chuck can (and has) neutralized the superior wrestling skills of better wrestlers than evans. that said he’ll catch him on the button at some point maybe as early as round 1.
I dont think Rashad has a good cardio, he is always looking tired and lazy(reminds me of Shonie Carter).
On the other he is a very good wrestler but more important are his boxing skills, he is one of the few guys that´s always moving his head, making it difficult no knock him out.If he would just let his hands loose he would probably knock out Chuck.
Cant wait for this fight and Lyoto vs Tito.

Ok. Chuck is going to lay rashad out. There is an experience and intimidation factor here and they both favor chuck. nobody wants to stand with this guy. Rashad will have a better chance if he can get chuck to the groung but that is a lot easier said than done. I think the iceman wins by ko in the second. Then he will go on to face forrest griffin for the title cause rampage is gonna lose.
I don’t think Rashad is that great. The only people he has finished are Sean Salmon & Jason Lampert in the UFC. He had one earlier in his career. I just don’t see his had being raised at the end of the night.
I really like Rashad. I appreciate how he has taken his time to move up instead of going for a title shot right away just because of being on TUF like some others. I believe he proved himself against Tito, but was less than impressive against Bisping. He really should move down a weight class. I’m afraid he’s just outmatched when it comes to Chuck, but if Chuck takes him lightly like he did Jardine, the outcome could be like the Jardine fight. His chin’s about to get tested.
rashad vs wanderlei would’ve been a better fight in my opinion. chuck’s striking will win the fight.
Rashad couldn’t even beat Ortiz, who Chuck dominated…twice! I would like to see jardine and Liddell fight again, except this time put cinder blocks on their feet so they can move and just have them punch it out until someone’s head pops off like the toy with the robots.
Yeah and Wanderlei couldn’t beat liddell but he dominated rampage jackson and rampage dominated liddell. Your only as good as your last fight….If the fight is a complete stand up bout the obvious victor will be liddell unless Evans picked up his stand up game(Doubt full)but if it goes down then it is possible for Evans to win via submission or even a KO in a dominate position.
Chuck will have to be in shape this time out… I’m a fan of his but he gassed in the 3rd against Silva. If he’s on top of his game he can beat Rashad, but it’s not a forgone conclusion.. Rashad is good

After watching his last few fights, I think Chuck Liddell is washed up now or real close to it. He’s pretty boring anymore. He puts all his eggs in one basket looking for the one BIG knockout punch. Whenever he’s unable to find/land it, he usually loses. I’d much rather see a fight won by knockout or stoppage from some serious ground and pounding though, over lame submissions or decisions. I think that’s the only reason anybody still gives a crap about Chuck, because he might catch someone with a nice shot. Those one dimensional power punchers tend to gas out though and usually don’t stay relevent for long. Look at Tank Abbot for example.
P.S. Forrest Griffin is the most exciting fighter to watch in the UFC. He can take a beating as well as hand them out. Everybody knows that he was robbed on that decision against Tito, just like Hamill was against Bitchping(
^^ yea exactly my thoughts cagerage. i mean if shogun stepped down chuck should’ve been fighting forrest right?? I mean that would’ve been a step down for forrest to fight someone who lost to a fighter he beat, but on the other hand forrest isn’t in line for a title shot yet in my opinion.
he didn’t go through any of the top 205’s yet!! i wanna see him fight liddell, wanderlei, henderson, & if he beats any of them I’d think OK he’s worthy of a title shot. I mean keith jardine is more in line for a title – he whooped both forrest & lidell. he just not a fan favorite cuz he’s pug-ugly…. dana’s obviously playing favorites with the TUF TV show cast members

I’m gonna be rooting for Rashad, because 1.) he’s from my home state and 2.) Chuck isn’t as good as he used to be, he looks lazy out there lately.

Chuck can fight but his game days are almost over its hard to say this but i noticed most reigning champs must be defeated by those more rounded in the game and usually the ones with rhythm of some sort beat chuck. Im not racist but Chuck may be to stiff for a fighter like rashad Evons, Rampage Jackson, Anderson Silva well you get the point =).
Meh. I see Chuck winning when Evans shoots for a takedown. Chuck stuffed Tito… I think he’ll be able to stuff Evans too. So Evans will shoot… And Chuck will catch him late in the first, or in the 2nd round some time. TKO.

Big Whoop Heavy… his wins weren’t in an impressive fashion. He is mainly a “lay and pray” fighter. Your record means nothing until you start fighting ranked guys, that’s the true test. I just have to say Goodnight Rashad!
The 205 weight is all fucked up i mean Rampage has lost to silva twice but he bet hendo and chuck and keith jardine lost to houston but then bet chuck, so in my mind it thould be houston and chuck for a shot at Rampage or Griffin if by some chance God comes down from heaven and helps Griffin.
Alright lets just look at some facts before i get to my opinion. Fight records, Rashad has beaten NO NAMES and tied tito. Chuck has knocked out almost all the great Light heavies, including tito TWICE. Rashad is a wrestler and looks forthe take down, thats obvious. Chuck has eaten wrestlers for a long time and is hard as a b*tch to take down and keep down. Next fact is rashad has i think only 5 KO’s or less and they are once again against no names. Chuck has plenty of KO’s angainst the likes of Tito, Corture, the black dude with blonde hair. Chuck has also faced guys who have broken people (wanderlei, corture, etc) and come out on top. Now to my opinions. Chucks basically got all he needs and more to take it ro Rashad. Sure Rashads stand up is improving, but lets face it, Chucks is alone of the best in MMA. Naturally, chucks gona be beeter then Rashad because of his reach on Rashad. He can keep Rashad off of him with jabs and thatll wear at Rashad. If Rashad sees this he’ll start going for the take down. He’s got to go through chucks jabs, then get a good shot on chucks sprawl, which Corture had a hard time dooing (and Corture i believe was on the Olympic tam for wrestling.) Plus we all know chucks punching power. What we have in this fight are two good but different wrestlers, and ones got a legendary stand up (Chuck). Chuck with KO or TKO in first.

Ok, little kids, y’all are adorable.
1. Whoever said Rashad has not been hurt doesn’t watch UFC. Imes almost knocked him out, but rashad was faster at regaining composure.
2. One awesome KO does not make an interesting fighter. I mean Tim has 7-8 awesome KOs but bet all you would scream he’s boring.
3. Rashad has never struck with someone who hits as hard as Chuck at the angles Chuck throws at.
4. Chuck liddell did pretty damn good in his college wrestling carerr, and hasn’t simply let that go…he works all aspects of fighting.
5. Although I would give a slight advantage to Rashad in wrestling, can he keep Chuck down as he is one of the fastest pop up artists in the game.
6. Say Rashad does keep him down….can he deal with Chuck’s ju-jitsu skills? If anyone of you did not know Chuck is ranked decently in Ju jitsu, you’re not a true mma fan and I take you not serious.
Evans is not that good. Easy fight after easy fight. To date, Jardine is his toughest opponent. Yes, someone mention how jardine beat chuck..again, proving you do not know how chuck operates. He has a real loss, a “he should have won that loss” and then he get’s his head back in the game.
Another thing, I hate Tito….HATE Tito, but he should have won the fight between him and Rashad.
