I have give Lyoto the advantage this weekend. Lyoto has fought fighters like Rashad. Rashad cannot nearly say the same.

Kind of funny how people are always labeling certain fighters as cocky and arrogant. You have to understand that convincing yourself that you are the best and unbeatable is half the battle. This is as much a mental sport as it is a physical one. If you have any doubt whatsoever about your ability, you’ve already lost.
I don’t think any of these guys is really cocky or an asshat. They just have different ways of psyching themeselves out. One of the best examples is Diego Sanchez. He usually comes out as an asshole in pre-fight interviews, but he’s actually a really nice guy and it’s pretty evident in that interview he did recently (can’t remember who the interview was for, but it was posted here on MMATKO).

tough fight to call. I don’t feel machida has faced the same level of competition that rashad has, apart from ortiz who we all know rashad drew with, but I think that is just style match-ups. wrestler vs wrestler and than wrestler vs elusive karate guy. Both guys are very intelligent fighters, so may be a boring first round, nonetheless I’ll be rooting for the underdog rashad to pull the upset.

one important point that Rashad has made is that while he is criticized for being cocky Rampage is idealized for it. Rashad is a good person and an excellent fighter. Despite all the praise I am ready for an upset (Despite betting odds I think that if Mashida wins it will be an upset.)
