Log in to Reply Dan Blankenship September 25, 2011 Very classy interview. I like Rampage now! Log in to Reply LeonXIII September 25, 2011 I wish he would let his hands go in this fight but you got to give Bones all the credit… what a great fighter. I still hate the guy though… Im going to jump on the Rashad Evans band waggon and hope for an upset! True story: I was about to lay 200 big ones on Rampage tonight but just as I was about to click confirm the power went out and I had no internet until the next morning. I just saved 200$, thanks god. Log in to Reply JoeDog September 25, 2011 Good night, Rampage. Another great fighter will fade into retirement. Log in to Reply AOPrinciple September 25, 2011 You know, I have never been Rampage fan, but I really respected him in this interview. He had no excuses and admitted he just got his ass kicked. He pointed out his own flaws and congratulated Jones on his advantages. Props to Rampage for being so honest and open. Log in to Reply Just0 September 25, 2011 I love Rampage man. i’ve been watching him kick ass for over 12 years. I hope he doesn’t go out like many of the greats to with getting kocked out before calling it quits. He should just retire from MMA now and get into boxing. Log in to Reply dgaf September 25, 2011 Jon Jones is NOT beating Anderson Silva. Get your head out of the clouds. He could beat GSP, he could beat Machida, he could probably beat Brock and Cain, but he is NOT beating Silva. Log in to Reply fritz5011 September 25, 2011 would have set the pace for the night if he finished the interview with another motorboat Log in to Reply sammy September 25, 2011 @dgaf I will personally put my entire savings on Jon Jones and not even worry about it if he ever fights Anderson Silva Jon will take Anderson down at will and gnp his face in. Log in to Reply Krio September 25, 2011 beat Machida? are you sure? I don’t think he could beat machida Log in to Reply Turboobsessed September 25, 2011 He has a great relationship with his heaven in father @3:27… Rampage is Lost! I have always been a Rampage fan and always will. When you know who is the better fighter you give more respect to them. Jon Jones is good. No Doubt About It! Log in to Reply BJJ7777 September 25, 2011 Jon managed to turn Rampage into a humble person. I like that a lot because Rampage was the biggest douche bag in MMA but after this interview, I could even say I’m starting to like him. He spoke honestly and respectfully. I hope he stays that way. As for Jon, I think he’s definitely in the best three p4p fighters in the world and definitely the most well rounded fighter in the world, and all of this at age 24!!! As far as his demeanor and character are concerned, I think he resembles GSP a lot. He’s a humble, respectful and soft spoken kid with an amazing talent for mixed martial arts. I hope he remains that way just like George has. All those people saying that Johnny is cocky, simply have no idea what they’re talking about. The kid is very confident, as he should be, not cocky. However, he’s still far from cleaning out his division since the UFC 205 division is the deepest one in MMA. I believe he will though. Log in to Reply JJ September 25, 2011 he used to be one of my favs. If he fights like he did yesterday night (which is plodding slowly on the outside and letting Jones do whatever he wants without even TRYING to get inside 99% of the time) than he can: a/ become a gate keeper making just enough to pay his bills including petrol for his hummer b/retire and start his movie career. I’m not saying he would have won with Jones if he actually fought at all, but he would definitely have a better sleep at night. he was talking a good fight and then he FAILED miserably. What he needs his corner for if he doesn’t listen to one word of what they tell him? He didn’t actually need to train that hard – it’s a waste of time – if he was to give up anyway. just save some money on training – buy yourself a new console, don’t spend it on training if you’re not going to use it anyway? Log in to Reply k9aid September 25, 2011 the chick is a nut hugger for Rampage Log in to Reply Shiznit September 25, 2011 Jones is not beating Silva and he won’t get the chance because Machida is going to tune him up. Machida will hit him from all angles and avoid the takedown Everybody is gasing jones’ standup know… Don’t get it twisted he is not Anderson silva Log in to Reply chiroguy September 25, 2011 People…fellow posters on this site…after watching this thorough beatdown, how could anyone not realize that Bones Jones is for REAL!!! The only fighter that has a chance against Bones is A Silva and i must admit that I think Bones is too strong and too long for Silva…In fact, i am going to go out on a limb and state that Bones is the most complete mma fighter the world has ever seen. I have never missed a UFC event since 1993 and am not new to the game. I recognize greatness when i see it. For those of you who put your $$$ on Rampage…that’s like watching “Bully Beatdown” and placing your $$$ on the bully…Downright SILLY!!! Log in to Reply Leone Azevedo September 25, 2011 Jon Jones is just a taller and young fighter. THAT’S ALL. His talent resumes to its physicall advantage over his opponents. When REAL TALENT face his body and physicall advantage (in SHOGUN for exemple or even ANDERSON or RASHAD) we will see he losing his belt. Log in to Reply shocktime September 25, 2011 Rampage shouldn’t retire after this fight morons! Should Bader, Shogun, Bonnar, Vladimir, Vera retire? No This kid is just a beast he’s been wrecking everybody! Come on when you finish Shogun and Rampage? Two of the sickest fighters ever, fact is ur just a monster! A. Silva will duck Jon Jones like the plaque, and I don’t blame him. Why would he fight a guy with better wrestling than Chael Sonnen, significantly better striking, Submission skills, and bigger and more reach than himself. Log in to Reply voroshilova September 25, 2011 Jones is an animal, i fckin love the guy. Greco wrestling is the key!! Great performance by Rampage and interview still like him better. But Jones and Silva should fight, but i think its too early… Log in to Reply jeff September 25, 2011 Omg!!! Jons vs silva will never happen. But Jones is great!!! Anderson silva is Jones teacher thats what you all dont know. that crouch is from Anderson silva as well. I got Anderson In the 3rd round. Jones is nowhere near anderson silva. For all you kids that think they know fights and styles you should know this. Log in to Reply chiroguy September 25, 2011 Leone Azevedo states that Bones is just a tall, young fighter…and when he faces real talent like Shogun, he will be exposed! Leone, take your head out of your @ss…Bones annihalated Shogun to win the title. He just finished Rampage for his 1st title defense. Oh yea, Rampage has never been submitted in his entire career until he met Bones. Wake up Mr. Azevedo…Bones is the real Deal…Deal with it Log in to Reply cutu2bad September 25, 2011 Rampage has been shit 4 a long time his only ko’s are against has been’s see you later shit bird Log in to Reply Dave September 25, 2011 @ BJJ7777 you are such an idiot! Rampage is very honest and funny/entertaining guy who is down to earth and humble! but you clearly don’t know anything about him calling him “the biggest douche bag in MMA” you are one of those idiots who jump on a new fighter’s balls as soon as they win a fight or two just like Brock’s fans that thought there is no way in hell that cain can actually beat him. i’m a fan of rampage win or lose he is been fighting for a long time and every fighter has his time come and go and some will be remembered as true fighters and some will always be remembered as douche bags! now if you labeled chael sonen as “douche bag of MMA” then I would have to agree with you. Log in to Reply THATNISHGUY September 25, 2011 Rampage need’s new and better Trainer and Manager, ppl who will teach new and better techniques. Cause he is already good at boxing and wrestling just needs the new and better trainer and manager so he can capatilize like he said he would but he didnt. but Jones is unreal his Height and Arm Reach and hes just a tall lanky guy which PAYS OFF ALOT IN FIGHTING usually people like that are more speedy and accurate but Jones has all the attributes along with the athleticism, Rampage needs to add more kicks and elbows and pretty much everything NOT JUST punches. Rampage WOULD BE an Excellent fighter if he had the Know-How. Log in to Reply Corey September 25, 2011 For a bunch of die hard fans you’re all talking like idiots. A. Silva fights at 185. Bones fights at 205. Jones has a 2″ inch height advantage, over an 8″ reach advantage, and at least 20lbs on silva. Why would Silva fight him? I think Machida might pose a challenge, but he only has slightly more of a chance than Rampage. Shogun is the only real competition I see, because he’s equally good at striking and BJJ. Machida has no ground game. Rashad has shitty striking. Shogun is well rounded, explosive, and near invincible WHEN he’s healthy and doesn’t have ring rust. Other than that… Bones looking at being on top for a long time. Still don’t like the kid. Log in to Reply fanboys September 25, 2011 lol @ you jones fanboys, they same jackasses who were on brocks jock after 1 win, jones would get destroyed by silva, i think this fight exposed jones as nothing but a flashy queer, he ran from rampage the whole fight until the rampage got tired, jones is a waste and hopefully he loses real soo because that win was pathetic Log in to Reply BJJ7777 September 25, 2011 @ Dave Don’t worry you are not an idiot. You are simply ignorant. I rolled with Jon Jones in 2004 when I was still a blue belt. The kid was only 17 years old but I couldn’t make him tap because he was a very good wrestler with very long limbs. I’m not just a fan of this sport and I do know what I’m talking about. As far as Chael Sonnen is concerned, he’s the KING of douche bags both inside and outside of MMA. Be well. Log in to Reply SEAN_VANCE September 25, 2011 Why you guys keep on asking Jones vs Silva…why dont u guys ask for Jones vs. Velasquez…..Jones should be a heavy weight, he aint gona be able to make 205 for much longer…his body hasnt even matured yet! On the other hand, Anderson is not getting any bigger…u guys considering Anderson vs> jones are retards Log in to Reply fighter September 26, 2011 Jones still has alot to proof, but yet he acts like he been fightig for 20 years Log in to Reply Pope September 26, 2011 @ corey…..you don’t know much about mma do you? Or are you trolling? Machida no ground game? hahah. And rashads striking is pretty good. jones doesn’t have bjj nearly as good as shoguns and shogun really isn’t that explosive or very well rounded due to his lack of TDD ability and I say this as a huge shogun fan. I think Rashad and Machida both has a great chance against bones considering his performance against page. Even Shogun stands a good chance in a rematch if he can survive the ground without gassing and use leg kicks to set up punches. Log in to Reply hooch1967 September 26, 2011 He’s really matured and is a class act… and funny as hell as usual. Gracious in defeat. Log in to Reply gym9 September 26, 2011 Page was submitted by Sakuraba with an rnc in Pride..you mean in his UFC career. Log in to Reply mangjose September 26, 2011 i dont hate rampage now!! hope he get some win next time, very humble and admit that he didnt hurt JBJ!! NIce job Mr. Jones!! Log in to Reply mangjose September 26, 2011 Machida.. Cmon machida’s ass was kick by shogun.. and shogun’s ass was badly beaten by jones.. how come machida cannot be beaten by Jones?? He cannot even hurt rampage.. I think machida will not last the first round against Mr.Jones… Log in to Reply mangjose September 26, 2011 A.SILVA will duck this guy.. and ask his new mentor Mayweather how he ducks PACMAN!!! Log in to Reply ironfist September 26, 2011 Machida could possibly exploit the holes in jons striking and has never been out wrestled also mma math never works. But those are all big ifs. These guy is to big to be a lhw just like silva is in middle both happy to have an advantage over every one screw them both and rampage for freezin like a punk azz bitch that been out the hood to long Log in to Reply ironfist September 26, 2011 you r correct silva will duck bones no doubt about it. Just like he turned the rematch with hendo at lhw down Log in to Reply ETK September 26, 2011 Dan Henderson can beat Jon Jones. Log in to Reply murell September 26, 2011 Jon Jones would easily smash anderson silva, silva should step up,he walks around at 220 to 230 lbs,he has no problem fighting at 205,he has done it in the past, imagine how pissed the Brazilians would be Jon Jones smashing two of there best fighters Shogun then silva. Log in to Reply k9aid September 26, 2011 The more i think about it Rampage seemed to be in hype the fight mode and didn’t come to fight. Screaming he wants belt back Best shape of his career Spygate talk 1 million dollars paid to train MusclePharm free advertising Mentioning he was in a movie prior to fight Going on and on about no respect from Jones Bottom line he walked in ring to fight no one else but him and he lost Jones won. Log in to Reply 24/48 September 26, 2011 Rampage showed a lot of good character and is humble in defeat. I hope he sticks around and wins some fights. Rogan is right, he should mix it up a bit more. Those leg kicks were nice but he threw too few. Log in to Reply AreYouSeriousBro September 27, 2011 Anderson Silva Will Destroy Jon Jones….. stop smoking crack. Silva sits in the pocket and slips punches, avoids takedowns and has NO problem counter punching. Go back and watch the post fight press conference…. Jon Jones even said he couldn’t do that and that he spent a lot of time and i quote… “RUNNING AWAY LIKE A LITTLE GIRL.” All of you need to get off of Jon Jones’s nutsack… Log in to Reply AreYouSeriousBro September 27, 2011 Oh and @Manjose…… you sound like an idiot…. different styles make different fights…. it happens ALL THE TIME where fighter #1 loses horribly to fighter #2 BUT comes back and destroys fighter #3, when 6 months earlier fighter #3 got beat by fighter #2. All of you posers should spend a little less time typing and a little more time training in the sport that you THINK you know so much about. lol Log in to Reply Corey September 28, 2011 Must be trolling. Last time machida subbed someone, 2007. Machida has good take down defense… but against jones with his greco, isnt going to equal shit. Lets not forget we all hated watching machida fight the majority of his career, because he was almost exclusively a counter striker, yet managed to remain outside of the opponents reach, creating long intervals of absolutely nothing happening. And I’m agreeing with who ever said bones should go to heavyweight and fight velasquez. The kid is still growing, and he already has the reach and size of a heavyweight. He could EASILY pack on 20-30lbs of muscle and be a big heavyweight with his reach/height. Why should a smaller guy come up to him, when he’s already so much bigger that the guys hes fighting at HIS weight class? That’s retarded. Rashad has improved his striking, but knocking out Tito in 2011 isn’t something to brag about. If he did it five years ago, I might give him props. He’s still a wrestler, through and through. As far as how jones fought rampage, if anything, bones fought rampage wisely, staying out of range, letting rampage wear himself down stalking him around the ring, absorbing leg kicks. We know rampage sucks at checking leg kicks, and we know his cardio has always sucked. If bones fought rampage like he did shogun, it would have been a first round ko, but I cant tell you who would been knocked out, because rampage has tremendous power and is a pretty good counter striker.
