You know, I have never been Rampage fan, but I really respected him in this interview. He had no excuses and admitted he just got his ass kicked. He pointed out his own flaws and congratulated Jones on his advantages. Props to Rampage for being so honest and open.

Jon managed to turn Rampage into a humble person. I like that a lot because Rampage was the biggest douche bag in MMA but after this interview, I could even say I’m starting to like him. He spoke honestly and respectfully. I hope he stays that way. As for Jon, I think he’s definitely in the best three p4p fighters in the world and definitely the most well rounded fighter in the world, and all of this at age 24!!! As far as his demeanor and character are concerned, I think he resembles GSP a lot. He’s a humble, respectful and soft spoken kid with an amazing talent for mixed martial arts. I hope he remains that way just like George has. All those people saying that Johnny is cocky, simply have no idea what they’re talking about. The kid is very confident, as he should be, not cocky. However, he’s still far from cleaning out his division since the UFC 205 division is the deepest one in MMA. I believe he will though.

he used to be one of my favs. If he fights like he did yesterday night (which is plodding slowly on the outside and letting Jones do whatever he wants without even TRYING to get inside 99% of the time) than he can: a/ become a gate keeper making just enough to pay his bills including petrol for his hummer b/retire and start his movie career. I’m not saying he would have won with Jones if he actually fought at all, but he would definitely have a better sleep at night. he was talking a good fight and then he FAILED miserably. What he needs his corner for if he doesn’t listen to one word of what they tell him? He didn’t actually need to train that hard – it’s a waste of time – if he was to give up anyway. just save some money on training – buy yourself a new console, don’t spend it on training if you’re not going to use it anyway?

People…fellow posters on this site…after watching this thorough beatdown, how could anyone not realize that Bones Jones is for REAL!!! The only fighter that has a chance against Bones is A Silva and i must admit that I think Bones is too strong and too long for Silva…In fact, i am going to go out on a limb and state that Bones is the most complete mma fighter the world has ever seen. I have never missed a UFC event since 1993 and am not new to the game. I recognize greatness when i see it. Jon Jones is just a taller and young fighter. THAT’S ALL. His talent resumes to its physicall advantage over his opponents. When REAL TALENT face his body and physicall advantage (in SHOGUN for exemple or even ANDERSON or RASHAD) we will see he losing his belt.

Rampage need’s new and better Trainer and Manager, ppl who will teach new and better techniques. Cause he is already good at boxing and wrestling just needs the new and better trainer and manager so he can capatilize like he said he would but he didnt. but Jones is unreal his Height and Arm Reach and hes just a tall lanky guy which PAYS OFF ALOT IN FIGHTING usually people like that are more speedy and accurate but Jones has all the attributes along with the athleticism, Rampage needs to add more kicks and elbows and pretty much everything NOT JUST punches. For a bunch of die hard fans you’re all talking like idiots. A. Silva fights at 185. Bones fights at 205. Jones has a 2″ inch height advantage, over an 8″ reach advantage, and at least 20lbs on silva. Why would Silva fight him? I think Machida might pose a challenge, but he only has slightly more of a chance than Rampage. Shogun is the only real competition I see, because he’s equally good at striking and BJJ. Machida has no ground game. Rashad has shitty striking. Shogun is well rounded, explosive, and near invincible WHEN he’s healthy and doesn’t have ring rust. Other than that… Bones looking at being on top for a long time. Still don’t like the kid.

The kid was only 17 years old but I couldn’t make him tap because he was a very good wrestler with very long limbs. I’m not just a fan of this sport and I do know what I’m talking about. And rashads striking is pretty good. jones doesn’t have bjj nearly as good as shoguns and shogun really isn’t that explosive or very well rounded due to his lack of TDD ability and I say this as a huge shogun fan. I think Rashad and Machida both has a great chance against bones considering his performance against page. Even Shogun stands a good chance in a rematch if he can survive the ground without gassing and use leg kicks to set up punches.

Must be trolling. Last time machida subbed someone, 2007. Machida has good take down defense… but against jones with his greco, isnt going to equal s***. Lets not forget we all hated watching machida fight the majority of his career, because he was almost exclusively a counter striker, yet managed to remain outside of the opponents reach, creating long intervals of absolutely nothing happening. And I’m agreeing with who ever said bones should go to heavyweight and fight velasquez. The kid is still growing, and he already has the reach and size of a heavyweight. He could EASILY pack on 20-30lbs of muscle and be a big heavyweight with his reach/height. Why should a smaller guy come up to him, when he’s already so much bigger that the guys hes fighting at HIS weight class? That’s retarded. Rashad has improved his striking, but knocking out Tito in 2011 isn’t something to brag about. If he did it five years ago, I might give him props. He’s still a wrestler, through and through. As far as how jones fought rampage, if anything, bones fought rampage wisely, staying out of range, letting rampage wear himself down stalking him around the ring, absorbing leg kicks. We know rampage sucks at checking leg kicks, and we know his cardio has always sucked. If bones fought rampage like he did shogun, it would have been a first round ko, but I cant tell you who would been knocked out, because rampage has tremendous power and is a pretty good counter striker.
