Rampage Jackson Picked Up Again By Police

Ex-UFC light-heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was admitted to a hospital on Wednesday for a mental health evaluation following an incident in which he was exhibiting “unusual behavior,” Irvine, Calif., said police Lt. Rick Handfield on Thursday.

Sources say around 4:30 PM yesterday, friends who were hanging out with Rampage, waved down an Irvine police car after they were worried about his behavior. This, of course, following the insane chase the day before in which the UFC fighter hit several cars in his monster truck and was arrested at gunpoint.

To anyone talking shit I ask this: Can you imagine the amount of pressure placed on him? Then to be robbed of his belt. I’ve watched the fight over and over. Rounds 1,3,4, and IMO 5 to Rampage, and Rounds 2 and you can argue 5 to Forrest. You have to “Beat” the champ in such a fashion there’s no doubts, to win. Forrest wasn’t capable of that. If it wasn’t for that leg kick things would have been different. I doube there would have even been a decision. It should go to an immediate rematch, but I’m sure he’ll have to beat the winner of Liddell vs. Evans for that chance. All that stress, and then to have people everywhere come up and be that constant reminder. It’s obvious he’s an emotional guy.

Does anybody else find this fishy? As a therapist, there is a certain disorder in which you fake symptoms to get out of jail time. HMMM. If i was in his situation would i want to either A. face charges that possibly will send me to jail and end my career or B. act like i have a mental disorder (manic fit-bi polar disorder), get diagnosed as short term, get the “help” i need, and return to my job. Which one would you prefer?

And for those that are saying his friends narc’d on him, they probably did him a huge favor. If he needs help, they’d be assholes not to try to get it for him and if they were worried about his safety or theirs at the time, then he clearly needs help.

To those who think turning a “friend” over to the police for mental health issues is helping them are either naive, stupid, or both. The police deal with crime prevention and apprehension not mental health issues (DUH!). A friend concerned with a one’s mental health would do things like call his wife or girlfriend to see if he’s taking medication and has a family doctor; discreetly take him to a private clinic, or if need be convince him to go to a public hospital. Many famous entertainers, business leaders, and/or politicians suffer from mental illness and are or have been under medication for their condition. When their issues arise friends and family don’y call the police and have them arrested. Its handled with discretion and prudence because that’s what a friend and family memeber should do. To get a friend arrested and claim its to help him is sheer bullshit and is obvious indication that a person is not a friend and is truly bitch-made !
