I gotta admit, scheduling an interview right before weigh-ins is pretty f’ed up. Not a lot of people who wouldn’t be pissed or at least unstable in that position. And, now I really hope Page wins cuz I had no idea he spent that much money.

rainbow Says, in 9-23-2011 at 15:10:26 from

Rampage the veteran, Jones the new generation
fighter= clash of the titans in 205.

Will either be a tough decision, or domination
by Jones. Rampage has only a punchers chance.

Jones is amazing but he always answers interview questions like some beauty pageant contestant

It seems Bones is using words as strategy whereas Rampage seems to have legit hatred for this “kid”! Gonna be a damn good throwdown!

white tiger Says, in 9-23-2011 at 15:58:06 from

I love Page, but I don’t see how he is going to win. To date, Bonner is the only fighter/striker to hang in there with Bones. Albeit, he got his ass whopped; but he hung in there. Page has a similar style, but with a mac truck behind his fist. Stylistically, not a great match up. I just hope this is a good fight. Then feed A Silva to Jones.

1 million USD ($) ??? Complete nonsense!
I call bullsh*t on that! It’s been 4 months since his last fight with Matt Hamill. Simple math…. 4 months = 160 days.
$1,000,000 / 160 = $6250 per day, every day for 4 months. Impossible. Rampage is full of shi*t and not to bright.

JRubin Says, in 9-23-2011 at 16:30:15 from

lol @ Rampage, who has rampage beat recently? he got whooped by Rashad pulled a bs decision over Machida, and decisioned Matt Hamil who was next retired by Gustafson after being finished, not to mention how easily Bones handled Hamil in comparison to Rampage.

keyboardcowboy Says, in 9-23-2011 at 17:46:26 from

will jones bitch out on the stare down this time? or will he get in rampages face?

TR8DinLETHER Says, in 9-23-2011 at 17:46:31 from

jones is on another level but he lacks the power to take out rampage via striking hes more than likely to get the sub in the 2nd or 3d round. i dont think rampage is going to beat jones but i would love to see it. im starting to dislike jones more and more but i do respect his ability and skills that he brings to the sport. its kinda like GSP i f****** hate that flaming homo with a passion but he is the best and will prolly keep winning for a long time.

^^^^ Says, in 9-23-2011 at 17:47:58 from

I was a really big fan of Jon Jones, but the more I see him, I’m starting to really hate him. I still enjoy all his fights because he’s exciting and finishes, but he has a lot of flaws as a person. You might not like Rampage, but at least he’s real. Jon gives me that fake person and cocky vibe. This all started when he disrespected Shogun signing autographs as champion before winning the belt and it seemed to have escalated to new heights. It was no cool to disrespect Rampages coaches.

Jon Jones was nervous on this interview he cant even speak right. i am almost sure he was sweating could but who knows maybe he is just shy for the interviews but one thing is for sure rampage looks ready to get close and trade bombs and that’s exactly what he need to do.

k9aid Says, in 9-23-2011 at 18:15:19 from

Muscle Pharm is a sponsor for him it was on a previous post and no one mentioned who the so called spy was. If this spy issue was so serious he would be fuming about this not going on about disrespect.

kill666 Says, in 9-23-2011 at 18:19:06 from

i think the +million rampage spend was because he basically made a guest house and gym/lab next to the MusclePharm gym in Denver Colorado and why? because he didn’t want to wake up in the morning and be late (no BS that’s really what he said)lol

chiroguy Says, in 9-23-2011 at 18:20:46 from

mmaboxingfan2 Says, in 9-23-2011 at 19:09:28 from

Its going to be a good fight. But rampage did the samething with rashad and didnt go for it. All this is hype. But I will say its going to be a good fight. Hopefully rampage actually backs his words this time and goes for it and takes shots to hit jones or whatever he has to do. Jones hasnt been hit really good yet.

MattyP Says, in 9-23-2011 at 19:41:47 from

I cant wait til all you haters watch Jon Jones tear Rampage up tomorrow, limb by limb, minute by minute. This is going to be an all-around beatdown by the man who has all the tools in his arsenal; the only chance Rampage has is a puncher’s chance, and even he knows that.

It irritates me that people are labeling Jones as “fake” with “beauty pageant answers” and “cocky” just because of Rampage’s inability to coherently speak English, he’s all of a sudden “real” and “says it like it is.” Jones says it like it is and is real too, isn’t that the reason Jackson is mad in the first place? Because a younger guy who hasn’t accomplished as much as Rampage is standing up to him and talking back, not backing down, thus why Rampage is saying Jones is cocky. What does Rampage expect? For Jones, the current and deserving champion, to bow down to him? F* that.

Also, the ONLY way you would know someone is fake is if you knew them in the first place, which none of you even know Jones. The truth of the matter is, Rampage and Rashad want what Jon Jones already has – the all around skill set, the respect he gets at a relatively young age, the class and panache (swagger), and the belt. It’s ok haters, it comes with the territory; I mean, they are trying to find something… anything to dislike Jones. The same thing happened in the NBA when Michael Jordan initially began rising in the ranks over the stars at that time – Isaiah Thomas, Magic, and Bird. Gotta love it, especially if you’re a Jordan and Jon Jones fan.

If non-MMA fans were to listen to Rampage speak for 30 seconds, they’d think he’s half-retarded and all UFC/MMA fighters must be just as uneducated. Jones on the other hand shows class, is well-spoken, and carries himself with integrity – not motor-boating married women and giggling with immaturity when Dana White said “…we havent come (cum) to Denver yet” at a press conference.

morecowbell Says, in 9-23-2011 at 20:14:11 from

Quinton would not come forward with something like this unless he was absolutely certain about it.

Regardless of the outcome, Jones knows he’s dirty.
From the interviews I’ve seen, he’s obviously not one who believes his own lie. So there is a conflict
within him, and it will be interesting to see how well he carries that throughout his career.

PitfighterZ Says, in 9-23-2011 at 20:27:04 from

This is all WWE bullsh*t! It’s just Rampage trying to sell his “acting” skills, much like Barnett.
That’s the uglier side of the UFC: all the fake story lines. Really?? Does anyone here who has ever fought in a professional or semi-professional level believe that they coincidentally “find” drama and hatred for EVERY single card?
These are professional fighters and they might not like each other, but I have never believed in any, not even one, of the drama plots they put into the fights. The “perfect good guy,” “the evil villain,” “the dumb happy-go-lucky,” “the mysterious quiet fighter,” ” the bold loud brawler,” etc. All WWE characters. All bullsh*t.
Leave the drama for the acting professionals of the WWE and Hollywood. I watch MMA for the fights and the fighters’ skills. Show me the coaches, the training, the new techniques, and the fights (thank you Bruno for the awesome supply of those kind of videos) and leave the fake drama out. South Park has already done that episode.

Pathetic interview. Idiot trying to get them to go at each other. Two great fighters, so no complaints about the card, but this is bullsh*t martial arts. Old school people would be turning in their graves if they saw what this sport has become. No mention of strategy or anything, just bullsh*t WWE garbage.

Mike Says, in 9-23-2011 at 23:51:31 from

Best thing Page can do is to hit Jones with early body shots and guard for the takedown. Going straight for the chin will give Jones easy takedowns. Page has to take some Jones hits to the face and damage Jones’ torso, liver, ribs. Then go for the chin.

shiznit Says, in 9-24-2011 at 02:05:47 from

This issue people have with Jones and the equally opposite reaction they have towards rampage has to do with the authenticity of the person. Rampage will openly acknowledge his lack of education, often in a self deprecating way. Jones, while he may be relatively articulate, is hardly well spoken. He words are often stolen quotes worded in such a way it is clear he thinks he is the only one who has read a book..He says stuff like,”Take his accolade.”, when referring to beating Rampage. I know what he means, but it doesn’t even make sense…Jones however will tell you he is a humble guy while he is really cocky as hell. He answers sound like they have been coached. Take for instance a guy like GSP.. He answers in interviews are boring because they are respectful and politically correct. But you never catch his body language or facial expression betraying his words. He doesn’t roll his eyes, look sideways or refer to opponents weaknesses or make light of them. His answers are his genuine answers. There is nothing more cocky than false humility. Nothing. Remember, when someone is telling you they are humble, but showing you different, they really think you are too stupid to notice. I can’t think of anything more cocky than that. That is Jon Jones in a nutshell. Rashard is the same way to a lesser extent. I have less of an issue with a cocky guy like Tito, Koschek or Sonnen that just gives it to me straight. Just don’t tell me afterwards that the sky isn’t blue…

When you meet someone you have an opportunity to get to know them. Jon Jones, though none of us have met him, has given us an opportunity to pass judgement based on the things he has done and said. Rampage never started out be disrespecting Jones. He qualified what he said by saying Jones is the future of the sport before he said he would win by KO. If Jones were saying he were going to KO Rampage I don’t think you would see all this hate on various boards. He is saying he fights like Frankenstein, insulting his coaches, talking about his losses. Let’s be clear, in the fighting world guys will talk about another fighters style and how they believe they can win or it favours their style, but if your start going down that path(he fights like Frankenstein) then your in Koschek territory and I guarantee you that is not what Jones and his people want. They want him to be GSP… They want the QUAN to quote Jerry Meguire, but can only fake it for so long….

This character flaw has nothing to do with Rampages inability to communicate effectively or Jon Jones misguided self-belief in his JUCO level vocabulary. This is the same guy lying about training sessions with Rashard, signing his autograph as the champ before the Shogun fight, and saying he is a fighter and has not time for acting like Rampage only to go and meet one of the big studios(can’t remember which one) because it was too good an opportunity to pass up. I did root for him when I first saw him fight Bonner, but the more he talks the more he betrays his own IMAGE and reveals himself.

Jones has the talent, talent (not skill) to win this fight. I remind everyone on the board his height and length is not a taught or learned skill. Not saying he has no skill, but this has been painted as skilled tactical fighter against a brute with a steel jaw. Jones length hides a lot of that. He really has only scratched the surface of what he could be. Someone mentioned that he would beat Anderson Silva… Just putting it out there, he better take him down because on their feet this guy is food for Anderson. FOOD

Every single karate, boxing, and grappling matches i did yet there was nothing but respect from fighters and coaches. My 2 boxing fights we were both bleeding and hitting to knock ourselves out and when the fight was over(He won by 2 points) we went to eachother’s corners and got some nice positive feedback form our “Arch ennemies” coaches shook hands and congratulated each other. This is that way in 99% f fights i went and the one time the fighter was a bitch to his opponent his coaches were mad at him.In martial arts there’s nothing but respect and nobody trash talks.Trash talking is so useless and like you explained only is there for PPV ratings and WWE fans crossing over to MMA.

Honestly, I dont think Rampage has anything to prove. He’s been doing this for 10+ years, been a champion in Pride & UFC, and still has one of the best stoppages in MMA. Love him or hate him, he doesn’t change who he is. He has a puncher’s chance, but thats it. Sometimes though…. that’s all you need.
