Pride Fighting Decade is a retrospective on the 10-year history of PRIDE Fighting Championships, featuring interviews from such PRIDE fighters and icons as: Renzo Gracie, Nobuyuki Sakakibara, Nobuhiko Takada, Chuck Liddell, Mark Coleman, Quinton Jackson, Mark Kerr, Kevin Randleman, Frank Trigg, Don Frye, Matt Hume, Gilbert Yvel, plus many other legends that put Pride Fighting Championships on the map.

yeah yeah thats all good. But why no Tito Ortiz coverage? You know he finally got back surgery and he states that he finally feels no pain during training. In about 1 year Tito Ortiz will be a big name again. Bet that!

rgood, what the hell are you babbling about? Who gives a steamy pile about that washed up punching bag. The lightheavy div is stacked with tons of fighters that will crush Tito, 100% healthy or not.

Pride fc was the definition of what a real mma fight and fighter was all about.It was like watching a movie,not like in the ufc it’s all about money and hyping fights and stupid boring american fighters.There is not one fight in ufc that is as exciting as a pride fight.The only reason I watch ufc is because of the pride fighters.Pride will never die,but ufc will.

Tito will never comeback and be the force he once was. He coward in the corner in one fight with Chuck when Chuck began to punch! Tito has tried to be a stand up fighter lately when cleary he talent was taken folks to the ground and pounding. No Tito won’t be back, if fact he should keep his soft ass out of the ring before he actually gets hurt!

Static, don’t forget who set the stage for Pride….UFC. Most of the fighters on the original cards were rejects from UFC (Kerr,Coleman, Wanderlai, Belfort etc),

Rod you obviously don’t know the history here. Pride was far and away the biggest promotion in the world with the UFC a distant second. The UFC was on the verge of bankruptcy and in desperation came up with the Ultimate Fighter TV series which was an unexpected huge hit.

TUF completely turned the UFC’s fortunes around, and just as that happened Pride was hit with allegations that organized crime was involved. Pride lost it’s lucrative tv deals, and sponsors it had going and went into a rapid decline. The UFC riding its wave found itself in the perfect position to buy and kill off its main rival, and that’s what they did.

I don’t know the specifics behind where the allegations came from etc., but I’m a sceptic especially if you know how the Fertitta’s came to own the UFC.

One of the Fertitta brothers was on the Nevada State Athletic Commission and basically voted down allowing the UFC to compete even with new rules they had established. The Gracie family that originally owned the promotion basically was going under and the next day the Fertitta’s offer to buy the UFC from the Gracie family.

I can’t remember the name of the documentary on this but it was eye opening. This is the one thing that always has me a little concerned every time I see a disputed decision in the UFC, do these guys have something to do with it?

Knees to the head, stomps and kicks. Should be back to MMA in the States. No more of this “palatable” version for the masses. If you know what I mean, shoot/sprawl, would be a very different game. Even Big John Mc is in favor of knees allowed on the ground.
