They were both hurt bad. Scott said in the interview that he’d never been hit so hard in his life.

this fight has stuck in my head for a while cause scott smith pulled such a DICK move on a supposed freind. he tottally faked being hurt cause he knew that pete was gonna come in and smack him around a lil bit to get a stoppage and win the fight mildly instead of viciously running in with a knee to the face and go for the kill.

and i love how scott swings with all his might and continues beating on pete and when they stop the fight he puts on a act like he did all that while hurt. fuck that shit that was a dick move and he sucks as a fighter, he won cause he tricked a freind cause in the end if ure going in the ring with someone ure cool with you really just wanna put on a show and not hurt each other that bad, but when someone pulls a “scott smith” and fucks u over in the ring to win like a bitch ure fucked. scott smith can eat a dick, lame ass fighter

first off “jasondm” i know there were beating on each other the whole fight you goon, if u learned how to read you would understand that i was refering to the end of the fight.

second “kc” if you ever got a shot in the midsection where the wind gets knocked out of u and you think u have a broken rib, u dont go throwing a right cross of that magnitude and continue to drop bombs as well. becuase if YOU WERENT SUCH A NOOB you would know that you need ure core muscles (the ones that just got obliterated) to unleash such a barrage.

my point being if ure in a fight and you get hit with such a shot that has you hunched over, you dont all of a sudden take a break from it beat the shit out of someone and then reume the pain on the floor, he basically pulled bullshit on his freind thats what im saying so wake up.

Awesome fight, both guys class acts out to put on a real show while doing what they trained to do.

And Yo Mama, if “u” had ever been in a fight, you’d know that adrenaline overrides EVERYTHING pain-wise. Smith didn’t break his rib, but he got hurt and knew his fight was over if he didn’t go for the KO when Sell came in with his hands down. In 20 years as a firefighter, I’ve seen some of my buddies take serious burns and still haul people out of buildings, carrying them on skin that was literally blistering. Adrenaline and heart overcome just about anything.

If his rib had really been broken, he might not have been physically capable of that punch, but it wasn’t and he was and that’s all she wrote. Awesome, awesome fight.

kiernamac, i get the whole adrenaline story you dont have to give me a drama story or question if i ever faught or not cuz most of them dudes in the cage take incredible shots that would put a regular chump on his ass and they do that cuz of adrenaline and conditioning. but you notice when someone is really hurt they dont make a comeback like that in seconds or show their oppenent their pain.

what you guys are missing is that scott acted like he was seriously hurt, and cell being a freind of his didnt go for the finish with killer intentions cuz thats whats freinds do when they fight each other. they want to win but not in a manner that will needlessly hurt their freind, so instead of a knee to the face they go in with a flurry and get the ref to stop the fight. thats why smith had such a opportunity to hit pete with such a open shot. he basically suckered his freind. just watch his eyes.

All’s fair in love and war. MMA is just as much psychological as physical, just ask anyone who’s admitted they were beat before they even stepped in the ring. So even if that was 100% faked, which I think it’s kind of obvious it wasn’t, that’s part of the game. Period.

That’s a bullsh*t idea of what this sport is about. If you’d rather see two guys half-ass it, so be it, but I think it’s safe to say nobody else does. What friends don’t do in the ring — that opponents who aren’t friends might — is take particular care to adhere to the rules. No eye gouges, no knees to the groin, etc.

If there’s a match where opponents aren’t going to use every legal tactic to win the fight, I’m not interested. And you won’t find a bigger fan of good sportsmanship than me.

This fight was downright amazing. Both of these guys are fun to watch and class acts to boot. I wish every match was this epic.

lol. Black Gerbil, they are friends! The announcers even talk about that in the video, if I remember right. They have a lot of respect for each other and they are just having some fun in the cage.

It’s sad to see people who can’t even watch one of the best fights in the sport of mma without thinking it’s fake. If mma was fixed, we’d not have near as much decisions as we do. No one likes decisions.

Yomama you have no clue….if only you could experience a shot like that to the rib region…Youll see just how much of a “possum ” that is. Anyone who gets hit with a punch of the force to that region would be devastated…In this case smith had the heart to lay one punch as he saw Sell coming in for the kill with his hands down..This was purely in defence, he knew he was about to be rocked…Even so Sell should not have come in with his hands down, this is one thing that a fighter is taught to do all the time, you are never safe in the ring…Hate to see what the fight would have been like if he missed or it was able to continue. Awesome fight
