Both fighters were hurt in this quick fight. With a little more power behind one punch the fight could have gone the other way.

I remember watching Cote fight way before he entered TUF… and I thought he was too much of a grappler then… when I saw him in TUF I could see that he was making strides… watching him here I can see he’s getting where he wants to be skill wise. Nice aggressive striking… leaves opponent with no option but to stand up and strike, since he is well rounded on the ground, they think twice before shooting. Well deserved win for Cote

I knew Cote was going to win this fight. Take nothing away from drew mcfedries…THAT GUY is a monster. he will come back and whoever he faces…man do i ever feel sorry for.
I wonder who there going to give cote at UFC in April for CANADA.
Maybe a rematch with Chris Leben which he should of won the first one.
but i guess will wait and see.

It’s nice to see that Cote is doing good in the UFC. He did great everywhere else… but had a bad start in the UFC, he’ll be around for a while.

Cote is another example of an upstanding, classy, Canadian fighter. Dropping the francais bombs after the fight for all the ladies…Why the heck not!

Patty Cote has a bright future in the UFC and he looks to be a dominate force. Fedor is lucky that Cote is in another weight class or he would be next logically.

yea rematch with leben. the first fight was a sketchy decision and itd be a fight thatd make sense for the ufc as both coming off good wins and a victory in a rematch would build up either toward a title shot

good fight cote, good job putting drew away, by the way is it just me or does drew have a week chin, after geting knocked out he went in to a fetus position that combo had to hurt.

that rolled up fetus position is kind of a cop out. The ref shouldn’t stop the fight until the other fighter is out cold or he verbally submits. That would at least eliminate losing fighters from complaining that the fight was stopped too quickly. Mcfedris had a smile on his face after the fight was stopped which seemed to indicate that he just thought the whole thing was a joke, maybe if the ref let Cote hit him with several more shots he would have a little more humility, but I guess I don’t really like Mcfedris because of the stupid stuff he says after he wins. I have seen a lot of fighters take the fetus position, then complain that it was stopped too soon or they act like they were just in a bad position and they didn’t really get tko’d.

Cote has always had a solid chin, all his losses are by submission/descision. He has a good ground game, and a good stand up game. If he keeps on training with Dellagrotte I think he can bang with anyone, as far as wrestling and jiu jitsu goes…. If he trains with st.pierre and gracie he will be a contender in the middleweight div soon!
