Barry needs a lot of BJJ and wrestling classes and… probably lose some weight. As powerful as he is, his height is a problem.

After watching Struve gain some victories, it should be obvious to everyone just what a bad man Junior Dos Santos is…Junior hit Struve with a few body shots and folded him faster than a bluffed holed em’ hand! @AOR This pic was used back when Struve fought Nelson. Could almost be used when he fights anybody. Struve may never be the “future” of UFC HW division, but he is damn sure entertaining and showing he has the tools to be a very dangerous guy. But all that said, I still think that with every Struve or Schaub win we see how good Nelson really is. I’m liking Struve more and more. I didn’t like his cheap shot in the opening of a round back a couple fights ago. It was a bitch move.

Barry had no ground game at all. You have to be well rounded when you fight at this level. I think Dana will give him one more chance before he gets cut.

Bruno, thats an excellent way to increase site visits! Drop little nuggets of beautiful girls in between vids like a treasure hunt so something. Just keep in mind that it can be an awkward surprise if watching the vids a work or with family.

In regards to Barry, he needs to change camps. He is definitely talented but seems to need something (or someone) to push him past whatever wall he keeps running into. Perhaps AKA or Greg Jackson.

I don’t know if he could pull off the weight loss, I don’t see why not considering how much bulk he carries, but Barry just might roll heads as a LHW and possibly challenge for a belt in that division. It might not be a bad move if you’re on the brink of being cut and will probably never be within title contention as a HW. Also, he obviously needs to improve his ground game in the mean time so he doesn’t get caught as easy. oldassgrappler commented about Struve sticking to his jits game, that’s just asinine and must stem from your fondness of grappling. Why would anybody want to dedicate themselves to a 1 dimensional game plan, abandoning the stand up game to become a 6’11″ target getting pummeled while attempting take-downs and probably failing.

I dont think Barry can cut. He is naturally muscular it seems to me. Cutting weight like that is extremely difficult. Its not like he bulks up to make HW. He is like Daniel Cormier(sp?). They are both muscular guys with just enough fat to make them look chubby. That is unlike Fedor who us a natural 205′er who is not muscular at all but just thick and athletic enough to give the most HWs fits. Fedor is a better candidate for cuting to 205 in my opinion. Barry just needs to change camps.

In my opinion Struve’s performances proves over and over how reach advantage is not that important unless your are gifted like Bones Jones. He seems not to know how to capitalize on his huge legs/arms to keep opponents at distance. The guy is not dominant at all and looks too fragile to be 6′ 11”. I personally don’t dig his style and believe that if he was 6 feet would not belong to the UFC

I’m a Struve fan but I think Barry needed the win more. I think Barry puts on a good show and it would suck to see him get released after this loss.

Struve seemed cautious standing, even if he was warming up towards the fight, I think the transition was a wise one.
