As for the fight, it was sad to see Oscar went down like that – totally dominated by a faster Pacquiao. I thought the ref should have stopped the fight when he was pounded in the corner in the eight and couldn’t fire any punches back for over a minute. That was totally unnecessary.
Pac Man is the man right now, and if that poser Mayweather ever got the brain, he would “unretired” and set up an epic match with Manny. That would be even a greater fight than the DLH fight – and would rake in the biggest purse ever.
I would actually paid PPV to see that fight ..

I am a big boxing fan and I don’ even remember a big fight that he won! He lost all the REALLY BIG FIGHTS that he has had. I remember his downfall. It happened when he won a decision of Felix Strum. Anyone who saw that fight KNOWS that he GOT HIS A S S kicked. But he had to win that fight to fight Benard Hopkins. He should have quit after the Hopkins loss but no he had to keep going. Then he lost again to Floyd a fight he should have never taken. Sad to say but it probably isn’t over for Oscar but it should be.

like all great fighters the one opponent you can’t ever truly beat is age. Oscar is a great fighter but his time is up and unless he picks his fights very carefully…the next time it will be worst. The smart move is to hang up the gloves and focus on the business aspect of boxing.

What did De La Hoya expect. He probably walks around at 180 lbs. He looked soft, father time caught up with him, & he had a terrible game plan.
It reminded me of when he beat Chavez. The same thing happened to De La Hoya this night.

De La Hoya is indeed old. Nobody who wears his trunks that high up on his chest should still be fighting. I wasn’t wondering why he didn’t shoot but he could have at least tried to make a fight out of this when he realized that he wasn’t going to win a nice clean boxing match by decision! Clinching, “accidental” head butts and low blows do wonders to slow a much faster opponent down. From the look on his face it was obvious that B-Hop was thinking the exact same thing.
