I knew this was coming. The loss to Griffin was because Rua was stuck in the Chute boxe mentality, no other reason, I guess he realized that it’s time to in order to keep on winning. I would like to see a rematch with Griffin in the latter months of 08. Rua will kick his ass like he kicked Rampage Jackson’s ass in pride.

I live 2 minutes from Gabriel Gonzaga and his training facility so i gotta say bringing 2 more phemonianl fighters to Massachusetts is extremely exciting. I hope they come to the Springfield Area, (Gonzaga is out of Ludlow) so Ludlow could be an option also. Of course you can’t over look Boston.

Can’t wait to see the 2008 Shogun. Am sure he will rock the Light Heavyweight when he returns and sure everyone else will agree…

Wanderlei moving to Vegas and doing some training at Extreme Couture was the smartest move he could have made. I am glad the Rua boys are moving to the states. Fighting in the Cage is a different thing. Shogun will rip Forest in half when they fight again. When a guy gasses out a baby could beat him. I doubt Shogun will ever take another fight lightly.

Gonzaga (another brazilian) trains in Mass too. I wonder if they’ll train together?

Lol, what else is there to learn in Mass? I mean, these guys fought in PRIDE!! Then ol Ninja comes to the UFC and Griffin schools his ass at his own game! All of these guys are phenomenal, but you can only be so good, then there’s always somebody a little better than you in this game especially. Props to everyone in this sport. Great site btw!

Shogun loosing to Forest had nothing to do with where he trained at the time. He was out of shape, I believe because he underestimated Griffin. Why Mass.? Why not Vegas? Are they close with Gonzaga?

are they opening a chuteboxe academy, moving a gym all ready there, or opening their own place under a new name?

They really will rack in on money now. So many people will drop insane amounts of cash to train with Rua’s if they feel like charging it.

But I’m going to stick with Griffin/Rua II ending similar to I.

Alex I have to say I’ll be shocked if Shogun vs Rua 2 takes place anytime soon that the result will be the same.

That was an impersonator in the ring, I’ve watched to many Shogun fights to believe he wasn’t hurt, taking the fight lightly, or just worn out by banging his new hottie wife.

The guy’s a real killer and I think he will set the record straight on who he is starting from his next fight.

By the way, any word out there if he’s scheduled for another fight yet?

Okay too all ya Shogun haters… All you have to look at is who is ranked #2 in the world in the light heavy weight division… Arrest my case (in reference to the griffin fight.) Maybe youtube Shogun vs Jackson, you will see what an ass kicking is and what a knee injury can do when you can’t train to your fullest…

Respectfully

shogun vs rua 2?

what the hell are you people talking about..if wandy had not trained with coutoure he probably would have used his explosive knees and kicks to hurt chack..but sadly all he did was sloppily try to box him…he was like a shadow of his former self

arrest my case! lmao

I’m tired of the PRIDE / UFC comparison .If you want to hold a true mma tournament the rules must be met half way by both sides . Use a cage but with the PRIDE rules minus the legal piledriver law .Otherwise its a one sided affair with the advantage going to the UFC .As a well versed street fighter I can assure you that these are not the toughest fighters in the world …only the ones who know the rule book .if they went back to the origional UFC rules you’d be asking who Liddell or couture was …because we’d see them on their backs getting saved by the ref .
