The fighter, who’s still trying to prove he’s more than just MMA’s best one-armed fighter, will try and win the XFC lightweight title in Friday’s XFC 21 event. He takes on well-regarded Bellator vet Eric Reynolds (16-6).

Crazy how not having half an arm is a disadvantage in certain areas and an advantage in others.Its all about how to use what you have.

Why was the ref yelling “3 fingers, 3 fingers” to Reynolds.
No disrespect to Reynolds, but you would have to feel like complete $h!t losing to a guy with one hand.

If you feel like sh*t for losing to a guy who has been walking through all the competition in his way, then you are probably right.
Newell is a good fighter and now a champion. No more “one-armed wonder.” For now on, he is the champ.
Eric Reynolds didn’t look good in this fight, though. I want to see Newell getting higher competition now. I hope he gets a shot at the UFC or at least Bellator.
Newell should be required to wear some sort of improvised glove on his stub.

I never knew that Street Fighter’s Oro has a son and he kicks ass.
if he had the rest of his arm he would defo be fighting in a higher weight devision. so an advantage in some respect.
hmmm….interesting how after his back was taken, no attempt to turn but instead grab the highschool head lock? I’m not saying it was fixed…. but I’m saying it looked like it was fixed

saying Reynolds couldn’t do small joint manipulation (bending a finger to cause Newell to let go). I guess it’s easier to do that to a guy that doesn’t have a forearm completely covering his lock hand
