God Diaz is such a wacky striker. No surprise he won their, as he’s the better of the two Diaz’s

Nick Diaz.
Still the best reason to watch MMA worldwide.

Looked a bit out of shape.
But made the other guy look like he didn’t belong anywhere.

Diaz looked good. I always wonder why he doesn’t shoot more but his boxing was pretty sharp last night. I wanna see Diaz-Aoki. That would be a great fight. I see Diaz beating him.

Diaz looked as if he had the same intensity he would have in a sparring match and still worked dude over! Hopefully the comp level picks up for him.

lol both guys have awesome chins. diaz was took so many power shots and kept walking through them to punish inoue. and inoue, well he was still on his feet somehow after getting pummeled with 20 punches on the button

Does anyone know why Nick was penalized for holding Inoue’s legs????

mygif_alt
Daryl Says, in 5-11-2008 at 16:22:19 from 199.126.37.245

He wasn’t penalized for holding the legs he was penalized for an illegal kick.

His punching accuracy is respectable, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen an MMA fighter of Diaz’ size with punches that are that slow! Watch his previous fight if you want to see some really amazingly slow punches — it looks like he’s fighting underwater in that one.

True dat.

Japanese promotions: if their fighter’s in trouble, they’ll give him a breather (how many times in that fight? One? Two?).

MMA TKO is awesome!

Diaz is always fun to watch. It’s a bit weird how he raises his hands widely something before punching. His brother Nate do that to. You have any idea why?

mygif
LivingDedMan Says, in 5-11-2008 at 21:20:09 from 24.226.74.172

Right on. Nick should be in the UFC, he kicks ass. Always puts on good fights. That Gomi vs. Diaz fight was excellent.

I think DREAM is trying to establish itself in the MMA game by equaling the UFC by having one event a month. The bad thing for the UFC is that DREAM’s events seem to be so much more stacked with quality fights. Now if only they could arrange it to where this was on something other than HDNet in America.

For anyone who caught it on HDNet though, do they just replay the event and leave it alone, or do they have a team try and comment over it?

KC Says, in 5-11-2008 at 23:53:04 from 70.70.139.89

do they have no kicks to downed opponent in dream now too? I thot it was started by the same guys who did pride…and there was no such rule there…

Oh and I think Inoue wasn’t knocked out because diaz’s punches are very powerful. They may be accurate, but i don’t remember any significant knockouts he’s done.

BruceAZ Says, in 5-12-2008 at 08:46:07 from 63.249.55.22

This was a one sided fight from the beginning.

GREAT to see Nick back to tip top condition..
in his fights with Aina and Noons he was lackluster and sluggish.. but in this one.. he pushed the pace.. and dominated.. looks like we’re going to start seeing more of the old Nick..

PS- i guess raising your hands in the hair is now the trademark “I’m about to win” taunt for the Diaz bro’s.. [see: the end of THIS vid.. Nate/Pellegrino.. Nick/Gomi.. etc..]

Nick diaz dominated that fight…. well maybe because the other fighter was smaller and was totally out matched! lol i wonder how he would do with a much better fighter? that was clearly a mis match.. of course nick would win! lol

Mike Says, in 5-14-2008 at 00:56:06 from 24.193.16.219

Diaz has real slow hands and I’m sorry he has no power. I’ve seen his other fights. He doesn’t posses one punch knock out power. If he knocks anybody out its usually from punch accumulation. Anybody with decent boxing skills and reach can easily beat Diaz (see Noons vs Diaz fight), and btw Rich S. he still looked sluggish in this fight as well. The only reason he won this fight was his size and reach.
