Nick Diaz Vs Jae Suk Lim To Fight March 29

March 29th in an event co-promoted by EliteXC and Strikeforce, lightweight Nick Diaz (15-7) has signed to fight Jae Suk Lim (9-3).

Diaz vs. Lim is expected to be on the main card of the event, which HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif will host. Strikeforce middleweight champ Frank Shamrock (23-8-1) will fight undefeated Cung Le (5-0) in the night’s main event.

Diaz is back in action for the first time since his loss to K.J. Noons for the vacant EliteXC lightweight title. Their match was stopped after the first round due to the severity of the cuts on Diaz’s face. Nick wanted to continue but the ringside doctor wouldn’t allow the fight to go on. Diaz has since underwent surgery to repair the scar tissue around his eyes after the fight.

The March 29th event will air on Showtime.

no idea who his opponent is but i hope nick wins, hes a cocky guy but hes good to watch, even though it was a no contest, the fight with gomi was really good, hope this guy hes fighting isnt a big puncher cos diaz cuts so easily its crazy! cant remember the last fight i saw him in and he wasnt bleeding!

To whoever referenced it, Nate and Nick are brothers, so its not a mistake. Nick is the elder.

The reason I say everybody should watch Nick fight, whether or not they think he is good enough to win. Reasoning goes like this: He is a jiu jitsu specialist that everybody is afraid of on the ground, so it encourages stand up battles. Also, Nick is a cocky and angry man, and just wants to through his fists even though he SHOULD be rolling on the ground. And then on top of it, he is one of the most active people ON the ground, so wrestlers can’t make a boring fight out of it.

Thats why I also expect an exciting fight with him. Lawler, Parisyan, Sanchez, Sherk, Gomi, and at least 3 other wins of his i cant remember are aaaaall exciting.

Im excited. I bet you could have guessed.

Diaz is such a non factor these days. It should be a rule, that any self respecting fighter who loses to KJ Noons should retire if they have more than 10 fights under their belt.

Diaz is overrated…Used to be solid, but now is just a lazy disappointment.

At least we have Nate to keep the Diaz name proud. Nate Diaz is a damn soldier.

kj was crushing him but gomi did the same. i think the stoppage was a bit premature. however you shouldn’t look like meatloaf after every tough challenge like diaz often does. i would of liked to see them go longer.

I agree with the positive comments on Nick. Nick can fight his ass off and has been for years. You can’t clown this guy if he has whooped some quality opponents (someone listed some of his wins above, look closer). Anyone who dogs him hasn’t been watching MMA for a long time cuz Nick can straight up whoop ass. He got a bad break against KJ and he should rematch.

So if ya’ll got some contacts with EliteXC, press them to make a rematch later in the year. I’d put bank KJ will get KTFO!
