Cesar’s article just shows that Junior (if this is the same Junior that has done some expo work in Brazil, the guy is dirty as sh*t) created a web around everyone. HOWEVER, the Gracies still chose to deal with the guy and Nick still agreed to the fight even knowing he was dirty. the problem would have been solved if they had a minimum (and I mean the VERY minimum) of professionalism and pulled out of the event as soon as they found out the guy was dirty. The way the whole thing played out, they are as much to blame in deceiving the public as the dirty prick.
I think Braulio got as enthralled in this as Nick, but nothing excuses anyone’s role in this. They were all too happy to deal with a dishonest man to keep Renzo in the black.
I hope the Gracies will learn their lesson this time. This is not the first time they get pulled into this kind of mess. Fool me once…

@p***********, before you go calling people retards, maybe you should look in the mirror. I read the link you posted, and all i see there is the same old drivel and excuses from the diaz camp for his childish and unprofessional behavior. of course they are going to defend diaz and make excuses for him, hes thier meal ticket.If your intent was to use that posted link as a defence of diaz’ actions, i think it has backfired on you. If you had any reading comprehention skills, you would have seen the contradictions and hypocrasy of some of the statement. They talk about what a good guy nick is, and how his big concern was for the charity, then they talk about how poor nick is just a patsy and is being used.(sounds familiar huh). Seems to me that no matter what the circumstance, be it his opponent not making wieght, or some other trivial matter, if nicks main concern was the charity, he would have made it happen. Nick might be a good fighter, but hes not much of a man. Being a man also includes honoring your obligations in business and life. If the problems nick percieved were so great, what he should have done was show up, put on the match, and then address the issues after the fact.
What happened here is nicks ego got in the way, and he felt like he was too big of a star for this event, and said F*** it.

I remember watching a video of Nick and Ronda and Nate rollin around not too long ago, and it caught me off guard that they roll to the music I chill and play video games to. For a sec I actually felt like I could possibly connect to this guy. Nick I aint hatin man. You just hurt my feelings. I know what you’re capable of. No disrespect. Just hurt. the only way I will be OK with this, is if at the last minute the UFC realized how much attention this would draw and payed Nick not to fight and he comes back and sweeps the the division. Just bar him from competition. He has a long standing record of poor sportsmanship. Who gives a F*** how good he is. I’ve never seen anyone handle B.J. like he did, and to be honest, I feel like if they would have given him a shot at G.S.P. a month after the B.J. fight the world would be bowing to a new champ. But at this point I’m done with Nick Diaz. He acted like Diego didn’t deserve to fight him, then got out wrestled. He traded shot for shot and then tapped Takanori, to become in my mind the last PrideFC lightweight champ. I don’t care if he smoked weed. Doesn’t really have much to do with fighting, other than to calm down young studs. It’s really useless as a fight supplement. Only true geniuses (and those with incurable diseases) need weed medically. Either way, to no-show over and over. Dude…seriously. I have an astronomical IQ and I won’t make excuses for you. If you’re a F*** up. You’re a F*** up.

I read the article on mmajunkie.com, all i see there is a promoter who is trying to cover his ass, and the manager of a mentally disturbed fighter trying to play spin doctor and defer some of the blame. Regardless, estima showed up for the matchup, and ultimately made the wieght. Diaz didnt show up, and we dont know if he would have made wieght, so in the court of public opinion, if you have to choose who is the larger douchbag, i have to say diaz wins. Diaz knew this was for charity, and should have done the event anyway, even if estima had come in over wieght. Nick always talks about how tough and bad he is, but he wouldnt even be man enough to do a charity bjj match with a guy who he percieved had a bit of a wieght advantage.
Losing a bjj match to estima is nothing to be ashamed of, especially if its for a good cause, but diaz’ childish view of everything clouded his judgment, and he once again percieved himself as a victim…and threw a tantrum like a 4 year old. Hey nick diaz, wake up. Your not a poor, under privelaged, inner city, gang banging, opressed minority any more. Stop playing the “im just a poor inner city thug” act. You are a well known and well paid athlete in the fastest growing sport in the world, you can afford to buy whatever you want, whenever you want, so stop the act.
And before every diaz defender starts with the “oh, but hes still going to give the money to charity” argument, of course he is, because his handlers will tell him to in order to do some damage control. Believe me, if nick diaz thought he could keep his money and not look like more of a douch…he would.
