Nick Diaz is looking like he is ready to get back to business this Saturday at Elite XC Uprising. |
Diaz has been training harder than ever during his 6 month layoff. He apears to be stronger and his endurance level is high as ever with his increased triathlon training.
In Diaz’s last fight he achieved one of the biggest upsets in recent memory. His defeat of Takanori Gomi was one of the sports greatest fights. Despite his winning by submission, many still think the outcome of the fight was Diaz winning by knockout because he won the standup game with Gomi, who is considered by many to be the best lightweight striker in the world.
Last April the Nevada State Athletic Commission announced Nick Diaz had failed a post-fight drug screening taken shortly after the bout. Diaz tested positive for marijuana and was then suspended for 6 months and fined $3,000. The NSAC also determined that his THC level was high enough that he fought with an unfair advantage. So they declared the fight a no-contest and overturned his victory.
