Notice the use of a potentially hopeless moment as proof. “when there’s a gun to your head…” “on your death bed…” As though they won’t be searching for the same certainty of knowing exactly what will become of them when the body shuts down. Certainty feels good. So does faith. Both are instrumental for passively accepting death.

Btw, I love this site. This and bloody elbow are amazing.

Also, real quick, it’s interesting how the rhetoric of believers and non-believers has somehow become the same. On the one side, science disproving many of the myths of religion, while the devoted point to how many myths of science are still left unsolved as validation of their beliefs. Both doubting the other’s position. Both faithful to their own.

BigFish is why i dont like most religious people.They use their hypocrit speeches of know-it-all.Like you WILL turn to God.Or I’m not here to preach.You don’t know what people will do when they are close to death.And before turning to a guy who turns whine in water,i’ll turn to David Blainity or Criss Angel.At least these guys know better magic tricks.

And you beleive that we were made from a guy who created the eath in 7 days.And that our ancestors are a guy and a chick that was created from his rib??So why do you laugh at people who beleive in evolution.I think that’s way more farfetched then a bunch of races of apes and monkeys eveolving through MILLIONS of years.How do you explain the ice age 10,000 years ago?and how do you explain there were elephants with fur and now they don’t ecist anymore?And that’s just in 10,000 years.Imagine what could happen in millions.Don’t laugh at people who beleive in the more logical thing.

@Big Fish: I have no respect for organized religion and the sheep they heard around our world. They cause ridiculous atrocities in the name of their god, with not a shred of scientific proof of its existence.

If, more specifically, Christianity and Islam had no effect on my life, I wouldn’t have such a hate-on for it. But it DOES effect my life and the lives of millions of people.

Ben Henderson has every right to show us what he believes in. Just like I have every right to ridicule and mock someone who’s ideas carry as much weight as people who think Elvis is still alive, or that A giant philly cheese steak cruises the cosmos controlling our fate.
