I’m really still trying to figure out what Starnes’ strategy was supposed to be here. Just out of sheer frustration from getting kicked so many times, you would think he would unleash a few combinations. He just didn’t want to be there. What happened to his prediction of outboxing Quarry?

I’ve been a fan of Quarry since TUF 1 (was sorry to see him leave it), after his horrible knockout at the hands of Rich “I need to get my shit together” Franklin, but I thought that he looked great last night; that blind boxing at the end: priceless! There is a silver lining in this dark cloud. Yes, Starnes will lose his contract in the UFC and will be demoted to fighting at highschools and random bridges. Yes, he will never live this down and get hammered endlessly for his antics by computer want-to-be’s and professional alike forever. And yes, it was cowardice and utterly gut wrenching a performance as ever been seen in any ring above that of those used in the special olympics. And Even that is debatable. But, the brightside is i heard the Canadian Olypic sprint team is willing to give him a tryout. Just another example of 1 door closing, but another opening.

Wow. I hope to never watch Kalib Starnes fight again. That was literally a joke. Quarry should have gotten him running away from him, stopped, pointed, and laughed. The whole fight was an unfunny joke. Except for when Nate clowned him at the end, that was classic. Starnes wouldn’t even attack when he was coming after him with the robot sprinkler!

i knew kalib sucked from watchin him on the show. he has always ducked and ran away from high action. he keeps his head down and doesnt look at what he’s punchin. nate had to be stoked bout the easy win he was gunna get but also pissed at how far they dropped him in the ranks.
nate looks sharp. i’d like to see him drop down a class.
he has a better chance at gettin a belt or even a shot at the belt with rich and a. silva outta the way.

There is a release that said starnes did this purposely as vengance against the UFC corporation. He feels that the fighters are not compensated for being “injured on the worksite”. In other words, UFC is not paying the fighters’ medical bills. Dana white threw out a bonus to most of the fighters in the ballpark of around 75k supposedly to compensate for this. There will be a press conference held at his gym soon. Again, this is the rumor…

He:
1) Got paid to lose or;
2) He is sick of UFC and wanted out of the contract.
