Maia’s Jiu Jitsu is slick as hell. His ’science of jiu jitsu’ training videos really show how technical his jits game really is. I can easily see a Rich Franklin or Hendo vs. Maia then a possible title shot against Silva. The only problem is that Silva doesn’t like to fight fellow Brazilians. That would be interesting..

yeah granted quarry isn’t really a top opponent. maybe a little over hyped because he was on the ultimate fighter. but good work by maia, would love to see him and bisping fight.

Of course anyone could do an RNC - on a stationary opponent. Maia is a tremendously skilled grappler, though.

Balance, guard passing, guard retention, ground control.

*Those* are what makes Maia one of the best grapplers in the world - and without those, he would not have beaten Quarry as easily.

For those of you who thought it looked easy and are down playing Maia’s skills, Machado(an extremely talented grappler) couldn’t sub Nate when Nate wasn’t nearly as exerianced. For Demian to beat him so easily(especially since Nate was defending well) is hella impressive.
