Yep, that’s what I thought happened. You can see it in the video. Manny is still Garbagyan! He hasn’t proved anything.

Why wouldn’t that lock be the cause of the injury? It can effect the knee, can it not?

The pressure on the knee was from Mohr trying to sit up with his foot pinned into that position.
There wasn’t anywhere near enough leverage for Manny to have submitted Mohr with a straight ankle lock from that position.
Mohr just used the wrong technique to defend against it and blew out his own knee in the process.
Unfortunate, but accidents happen.

Garbage? In my opinion he would have won tuf against diaz if it wasn’t for his shoulder injury, further against mohr he had the straight ankle tight if it wasn’t for his knee he would have subbed eventually.

Gamburyan is a solid fighter, I think he’s proving that. No evidence I’ve ever seen to say he can’t be a top level lightweight. He has good ground work and he’s game as hell. He might not be at the top of world class but still…
