He was telling the ref that Nate had his leg greased, even though Nate was just sweaty.

the doctors and refs checked nate for grease directly after the fight and said he was completely clean just sweaty. if you watch closely i think nate missed him tryin to alert the ref as he was scrambling right then, and just saw an opening.

It was a great fight night…crowd went nuts when Nate tagged him….hope UFC comes back to Austin soon….well worth the money.

Palhares, could have won by a north south choke, but went for the leg, he then thaught Nate greased so told the ref (who did not stop the fight in time) meanwhile Nate jumped in for the finish.
It was a win for Nate( assuming he did not grease) but in reality it was a misunderstanding.

Nate was not the better fighter, but he won. I was glad because I think that Palhares dude is a major roid/PED user. No man can b built like that naturally. I think Nate was going to lose, but very pleased he found a way to win.

Nate is also a proven roid user, but hard to say when he stopped since he got caught. This fool Palhares is a joke. He has skills, yes, but his explosiveness is due to roids.

As someone else said, he was not gesturing towards Herb Dean so that story makes no sense… maybe he was looking at his corner to stop the fight…

Palhares shouldve never just stopped fighting like that but…..nate definatly took full advantage of the situation, if he really was greased then they should straight up give him a loss and fine him…that is some busch leauge bullshit but i kinda doubt it or they wouldve done something about it on the spot…sad to cuz i really think that what little they did fight palhares looked like the superior fighter

Maybe not the best looking thing to do, but Nate was in a FIGHT (hello!!!) so that’s what he did. I can’t blame him for the win

How coincidental is this: Jackson’s camp has been caught greasing before. The ankles are greased, where Palhares is most dangerous at leg locks. Palhares is a master at leg submissions but Nate slips out like a baby was attempting it. And Palhares complains to the ref (he is an experienced fighter, he wouldn’t have complained if it wasn’t greased).

I bet Jackson’s camp wiped him down after real quick before the ref could check him. You can’t get that sweaty where you pull your leg and it slips out from a deep lock like that with ease; especially in the first round. Nate even made the excuse of saying i warmed up extra in the back lol to me that is just a cover up.

everything about ufc stinks to high heaven! you would imagine with all the experience on Palhares’s part he’d know the difference between sweat & greasing. Obviously he does, but unfortunately the more marketable English speaking fighter won; this so-called apology by Rousimar seems like a lame attempt by ufc & co. at damage control.

let watch the full fight before you make these assumptions. Nates attempt for an inverted triangle didnt just slip out of his legs. he also grabs his ankles in an attempt to keep the hold in…again it didnt just slip out of his hand.ALSO herb dean checked his legs/ankles directly after the fight when RP was accusing him.And yes when you know a guy is a specialist you train the escapes. nate turned his heel up and pulled out. good job Nate

DUUURRR THE CAGE IS SEE THROUGH DUUUUURRR you seriously mean to tell me they walked up, toweled his leg off, and did all of this without ANYONE at ringside being like WTF? You are dumb. Anyone who thinks he greased is dumb. He could wipe it off in the middle of a SEE THROUGH 30 FOOT CAGE? Its also basically impossible to just apply grease to a guy before a fight these days. There never just alone in the back theres always people around. And its not like you can grease up hours before the fight without it drying up. Marquardt is smart and worked up a mild sweat BEFORE the fight even started.

The GSP greasing incident was a result of a guy applying it between rounds, and obviously your not gunna do something like that in the middle of the 30 FOOT SEE THROUGH CAGE (i cant emphasize enough how stupid anyone who thinks the guy can wipe himself off without anyone seeing is) and be able to get away with it, or he woulda.
