No matter the result or how it came to be I did like the aggressiveness and killer instinct Cro Cop showed. It has been missing from his game for quite some time. Little slow to start but one can imagine how careful he was being not to be upset and get caught with something. Im sure he was very nervous stepping back into the cage.

The eye poke was inconsequential. Al-Turk was on his way down anyway. What concerns me is Cro Cop’s straight forward, flat-footed style. He doesn’t mix up his attack with low kicks and he’s not light on his feet. As Gonzaga, Kongo, and Overseem have shown, when you take the offense to him, he’s a much different fighter. I think that will be made clear when he fights the top flight competition.

Sorry but I didn’t see anything here that suggests that Cro Cop is back. He looked average at best and like it or not the eye poke had a significant part in the result. I hate seeing something so blatant get missed.
Do I think Al-Turk was going to win, of course not but after watching this I’m convinced Cro Cops days as a top contender are over.

However, Cro Cop didn’t look as good as he could against a guy with a 6-4 fight record.
The missed eye poke is yet another reason that Mirgliotta should not be a ref in the UFC. Also, check out the number of “back of the head” punches he allows in the Kongo/Valesquez fight. If he was the ref in the first Mir/Lesnar fight, Lesnar would have easily won, as he had only a couple of glancing back of the head shots that allowed the standup and win for Mir in that fight.

don’t feel to sorry for vana white; after all he’s the one who wanted Mirko for oh so such a long time, since 2003 back during the hey day of the PrideFC days. vana is quoted as saying: “he wants him in the ufc, I have no one there that could compete with him”. He basically just wanted a very marketable striker who spoke English; then came the purchase of PrideFC and White believed his old B.S. hype of Mirko from back in 03 and paid the big bucks for him. In reality, what he purchased? was a severely 1 dimensional but once great striker(not MMA)

Crocop finally smartened up and “unintentionally” jammed his fingers in the guy’s eyes while blocking those big looping stupid hooks that left Al turk’s face wide open. This just goes to show how retarded all that respect and talk of having good stand up just becuase a guy has “a good chin” is. Glasss jaw or good chin, they are both genetic and can’t be changed by training. Now Crocop has to win by kneeing his next opponent in the junk like those 2 gorillas Overeem and Kongo did to him! This is only 5 months after knee surgery. Doing MMA at all is amazing 5 months after serious knee repair. Being flat footed is less lateral stress on your knees, propbably feels safer for now. I hope he fights Fedor again.
