Tito Ortiz is a UFC top contender. Check his fight record. He beat forest griffin, he tied with rashad, he almost caught machida in a triangle/armbar. He did much better against machida than rashad evans did. Why is dana trying to make him seem like a has been?

Hate to say it but I agree with King Mo that faster guys give Fedor more of a problem then the slow plodders like Sylvia. Faster can be smaller, like a Rashad Evans type frame, which King Mo is very much like physically.

Of course Fedor would win, but still, personally I thought a Vitor Belfort (R.I.P Affliction) had a better chance with striking then most heavyweights in the UFC could, due to the speed and footwork agility, entering and exiting the pocket easier.

fedor vs vitor belfort is a mismatch…look how easily fedor dismantled heath herring while vitor belfort had all he could handle from the bigger heath herring (he won a decision but he took alot of punishment from the heavyweight)….vitor is going to get destroyed by fedor….I think Tito will do well at 205 now that Chuck Lidell is on the decline….

Tact, you make good observations regarding Fedor vs Vitor; IMO Vitor simply doesn’t deserve a title shot at the worlds best heavyweight. Your also right in pointing out that Vitor actually does have a punchers chance considering his boxing ability. But the bulk of the blame goes squarely to the matchmakers of affliction for even considering this preposterous fight. Vitor didn’t want to square off against Mousasi because of weight issues and now he more that volunteers to fight Fedor, because he’s got nothing to lose. All this just proves that MMA here in the U.S. simply doesn’t exist; the real MMA/ValeTudo is still being produced overseas in Japan.
