MMA Fighters Rampage Jackson, Eddie Alvarez, Tyrone Spong, And Travis Browne React To Stephan Bonnar And Dave Herman Drug Test.
I don’t usually find Rampage’s commentary overly intelligent, but I agreed with everything he said in his interview. Use does not equal abuse, and in the case of marijuana you’re shooting yourself in the foot if you have it in your system before a fight. Yes, it’s a vasodilator, but I believe the cons of using before athletic competition outweigh whatever pros come from smoking.
now its gonna be hard for bonnar to pull a Kenny Florian and be a commentator, nice job dumass!!!
its true marijuana would do nothing but make you preform worse… the only thing it could help with is if your nervous going into the cage it could help you get mentally prepared
Marijuana 4 – Steroids 0
I am not a pot smoker but who cares if a guy smokes. These guys get the crap beat out of them for our entertainment. If a guy wants to spark it up after putting on a great fight then more power to him……
lol! Also, I bet no one who is looking to cut serious weight before a fight will be smoking weed, either. Not that triathlete Diaz has to worry about that. He could eat as many doritos as he wants.
I dont know. For as much as Joe Rogan supports marijuana use he even stated that certain types of marijuana can help a fighter focus, sharpen senses, and dull pain… even he was against its use in MMA. So I dont really have a problem with it being banned.
i do smoke (often) but would never before a fight! or to train. even if it helps for a very short bit it still ultimately like an hour or two later makes you tired and sleepy…
“…glaucoma.” O_O
@Muay Thai
You know, now that you mention it I do remember Rogan saying that certain strains do help him focus in when taken in certain amounts. He also said he even prefers doing BJJ high. Ok, I guess I can see why they would want it banned in those circumstances.
I wouldn’t take weed before a fight it makes me too paranoid and craving White Castle
Some people have…. Glaucoma!
You can tell Alvarez is juicing as well. He was so uncomfortable answering that question lol ![]()
@ tonysnow, a positive steroid test hasnt slowed sonnen down in his broadcasting ambitions!
i liked alvarez’s comments
Bonnar/ Forrest the UFC’s GoldenboyZ.lol
So true
America f**** up again and picks a goddamn Communist to run our country!
hahaha “some people have.. GLAUCOMA!”
i expect a giff with in a week with a puff of smoke coming out of bonnars mouth when he gets kneed. make it happen
“Do weed”, “drugs”, “performance enhancer”, “negative effects”. Smoking a joint is like drinking a cup of coffee or having a beer
makes me wonder what will happen if colorado passes amendment 64…what will happen if fighters move there and smoke legally?
I am on the fence with this one.
I smoke weed, i am not a Pro fighter.
I heard some people talking on the Diaz thread about how it can help you, although i aint a medical genius i cannot fatham out how smoking weed can help you in any way shape or form.
But i have to say, if your a Pro fighter, dont smoke during your training camp, simple..
first question- serious faces
second question- everyones smilin
colorado legalized it
I’m from Amsterdam so…Next question.HAHAHA that was the best quote ever.
@zmayo
Me too.I can’t understand people who smoke before training.I tried it because some people were saying it helped them.It doesn’t,they just smoke too much weed and only feel good high.That’s why I think Joe Rogan loves training while he’s high it’s because he’s almost always high.
Steroids.. everyone does it but it is bad. Weed.. completely natural and stupid that they test for it. Marijuana is natural and it’s antiquated to be penalized for using a medicine that really helps.
There are sooo many fighters here in Colorado that are real talent and use marijuana… Brandon Thatch, Shane Carwin, Brendan Schaub, Chris Camozzi, Dean Lister, Cat Zingano… all of them are Medical Marijuana card holders just as an FYI.
@TheKungFuLowKick
You are totally right about people smoking too much weed and only feel good high. Coming from an ashamed pot head this could not be more true. And the comment about Joe Rogan is also true, because Joe smokes all the time, his brain will work better high. Just like when you hear of people who smoke all the time doing better on tests high vs sober. Their bodies and minds are used to it.
