Strikeforce – Playboy Mansion II MMA video of Mitsuhiro Ishida Vs. Justin Wilcox. The fight is from September 20, 2008 at The Playboy Mansion, in Beverly Hills, Calif. |
Good submission but Justin W. had plenty of time to scape from it. I mean it was obvious Ishida was looking for the armbar with that grip…
Congrats to Ishida.
that was sick
Wow, great armbar!
That the armbar was obvious at some point makes it even more impressive how good Ishidas technique must be that J.W. didn’t have a chance of avoiding it.
thx 4 post!
I disagree with side-control-nightmare, he didn’t have plenty of time to escape, Ishida was looking for a kimura at first and then transition to a great armbar, all that in a heartbeat. Congrats to Ishida on a great debut in the US.
It was obvious… really? It took less than 2 seconds to make the transition from that sprawl to the armbar… what “plenty of time” are u talking about? That move reminded some other great japanese grapplers like Rumina Sato and Sakuraba. Congrats to Ishida. In my opinion, this is the submission of the year!!!
badass
And this is why as good a base as wrestling can be for a takedown/GnP game, you can’t survive in MMA without some submission defense which comes almost exclusively from BJJ.
This is why top fighters don’t fight inexperienced guys. Thomson v Ishida is ready now.
wtf does endless fighter means ?
the flip-over put him in a funky position, he didn’t realize his arm was caught.
pawned and you can tell justin was upset that he tapped so quick.
great armbar, but weak submission defense.
That’s a move Sakuraba likes to do..standing kimura…nice transition from standing kimura to armbar…quick hips…slick jits…
best submission since hazelet/burkman
very impressive performance by ishida
Beautiful transition, newaza, not “jIu jItsu” whatever the f**k that is supposed to be,lol
i guess i must be way behind in mma compared to most of you guys with the early post to say it was an obvious armbar, u guys must be better at jjs than JW. cuz i didnt see the armbar coming. i just seen a kimura attempt and shortly after dude was flipped and ishida spinned on the ground quickly get into position for an armbar. that was very impressive, not ur everyday armbar. count to 2 seconds, thats how long it took ishida to snap that armbar on.. too obvious eh?
sweet
Whoever said ’sub of the year’ yeah, I agree. Anyone at this level knows BJJ and so knows basic defense to an armbar. That was a sick, sick finish.
awesome sub. nice one ishida.
