Regarding Cro Cops tic: There is a 24 second Youtube video titled “Cro Cop Twitching” that shows what seems to be a pathologic issue. I’m guessing its not a “nervous twitch” and we will see it labeled if media attention follows him into retirment. Only his neurologist knows for sure.

what I don’t understand is that when Mirko was punching nelson with nelso’s back to the cage why he didn’t use knees???? he could have finish roy right there with few knees to the face! and no jabs at all? he could have kept roy away just with jabs. oh well

The problem is Dana let some UFC fighters go over to Pride and they still had a winning record while coping to new rules. Some have had problems with cage vs ropes but most were the same age and size as the UFC guys so older isn’t really an excuse for them. I still love watching Wandy and Rampage fight. I love watching replays of CropCop and Fedor. With less skilled competition they made some great highlights. Hell for that matter I still watch Don Frye replays.

Off topic, but if Jones fought Rampage in a ring he would not have been able to run away like he did and rampage would have at least rocked him a few times and had a better chance. The octagon has it’s advantages, but I feel like it encourages running away too much.

^^^ pride fighters like wandy and cro cop failed because their style involved stalking and cornering people, you can’t do that in the octagon. Rings definitely help with strikers who stalk people, thats why counter strikers are often more successful in the octagon. Some pride fighters came in past their primes as well.

Also btw there is a video of cro cop post fight and he is twitching and spazzing like mad. He always had some sort of tick, but it looks worst then ever. Could you post that video BRUNO? It is very sad, but it shows what fighting for too long can do to you. Hope Cro Cop is ok, the man has been in many epic wars and has taken a lot of damage between boxing, kickboxing, and mma.

I gotta say Roy looked WAY better with that weight lost. Honestly he would do really good at 205 and he’d be a big 205er!

Props to Cro Cop for an entertaining and sucessful career been a fan for years and I’m sad to see him go.

But again Roy is looking way better slimmed down.

Pride fighters have not failed in the UFC because they were not good enough to compete with other fighters who started in UFC. In my opinion it has also something to do with not being able to adapt to new rules and octagon. Besides, most of them are getting rather old, and would probably fail in Pride too (if Pride still existed).
