MMA fight video of Mike Swick versus Josh Burkman at UFC Fight Night 12 in Las Vegas.

This was the co-main event of the night. To bad it wasn’t the best fight of the night is I predicted.

They both should have been penalized for having the MOST BORING FIGHT ever. The same shiat over and over.

yea boring fight, i agree, the UFC should do what pride does and take away percentages of the purse during the fight if it is a boring fight. but then again, with a baseball or basektball game, they dont take money from players who play a bad or boring game so its a double edged sword.

I just don’t see how Burkman can beat any of the top tier guys in the WW division. He tires in almost every fight, his standup is mediocre, and his takedowns — while good — are very predictable. I think he’s delusional about his own game. In his post-fight interview, he’s complaining about how he thought he won the fight and that he “pressed the action.” Going for and getting stuffed on repeated takedown attempts isn’t winning a fight.

Swick, on the other hand, will show more against other opponents in the WW division.

They both looked like they were scared of getting caught. Someone needed to take initiative and throw some combos. For being in the clinch for so long, you’d expect something to happen.

this was a lack luster fight.
with that said berkman was clearly robbed. he the brought action, as best he could, to a stalling an retreating swick for 95% of the fight.
swick came to the table with little to offer. he was sucked down and weak. you never wan’t to leave it to the judges, but this was bad.

turned out to be more of a bout of stategy and fight for dominant position. you can tell they both respect each others skill wich caused a slower paced fight. interesting none the less but it dosent make a good main event bout at all. i also think swicks weight cut had something to do with his less exciting performance performance but he still won so cant blame him for playing it safe for the win. to the guy poococktail above me, your a complete idiot and by your comment show you know nothing about mma. mma is chess, boxing is checkers. go watch boxing to see two people hit each other in the head over and over again

Not impressive at that weight, seemed like he had no power. Maybe cutting weight had a huge factor, but I dont see swick and Pierre even comparable. He has a better chance at middleweight, but henderson or silva would make him look silly.

im not hating on boxing at all, i love a good boxing match. as far as traditional boxing being an essential part of mma i would have to disagree. muay thai kickboxing is an essental part of mma. traditional boxing are skills are uneffective in mma and concentrate mosty on fast head speed and quick punching. in a good boxing match fighters will get hit 50 to 100 times in the head due to the size of the gloves, and the boxing stance dosent put any emphasis on protecting from takedowns or leg kicks. muay thai incoparates kicks, knees, elbows, clinch with traditional boxing skills but the diffrence is muay thai concentrates on more powerful punching techniques because unlike a boxer an mma fighter cant afford to take 50 to 100 punches to the face. to prove my point watch a k-1 fight of a traditional boxer verse a muay thai kick boxer and see wich standup style is more effective

let’s face it when a fight in the ufc is boring, it’s really boring. that’s why they need to red card fighters like pride use to. take money from a mans earnings and it’s on!

The UFC doesnt need to red card like pride. Fighters who dont finish fights go no where in the UFC. You get title shots by finishing fights. If fighters want to play it safe they can, they will just never make it to the top.
