You learn to appreciate these guys when you hear some really bad commentating, like when watching fights online by smaller organizations, where its obvious that the commentators know nothing about fighting or commentating.
With that said, I do get annoyed at times when Goldberg is talking about a fighter and he has the need to finish his little story despite the fact that fast and furious action is suddenly happening in the octagon. At those times the play-by-play should take over. I think Rogan agrees because I noticed that there was times he would interrupt just to get in the play-by-play.
Another thing that bugs me is when both Goldberg and Rogan nut-hug a fighter during the whole fight. I remember one of Florian’s last fights Goldberg and Rogan wouldn’t shut up about Florian…his past, his fighting style, his homelife, his this, his that…blah blah blah. I kept thinking “Hey, there are TWO fighter in there, give the other guy equal props”. And it was sweet because Florian lost. But, yeah..they do that quite a bit.

when goldberg was out for personal reasons it became clear just how good he is because he was missed. The broadcasts seem so boring without him. Him and rogan are the best anymore

Goldberg has learned a ton from watching so many fights up close n commentating with Joe Rogan, whose profound skill at following the action trumps every other announcer that I’ve ever heard. Kenny Florian is also pretty good as well. I don’t even know how to relate a little bit to all these keyboard jockeys hating on either of them. I know that I know enough about martial arts to recognize how well these guys are doing their job n that most of the mud-slingers on this n all other MMA comment sections don’t know s*** n pretty much just tear other people down to compensate for the disappointment they feel in their own lives.
