It’s picking at straws, but I’d like to see Brown vary his standup attack a little with some kicks. When you just utilize boxing, it becomes a little predictable (a la Joe Stevenson). That being said, Brown is still a tough dude to deal with, especially when your hand is broken.
Wtf is with the hate? he just beat the shit out of Faber and they don’t respect this man. They are fucking high!
Mike Brown is a damn beast. Uriah may have done better if it weren’t for the hand, but Mike threw him around like a rag doll. Still a good fight though, would like to see a third.
i knew faber had it coming hahahah!!!
Damn! Brown was absolutely disapointing…
Very stiff and not very smart. He will need to bring up a much better game for Brown vs. Faber 3. And yes, they’ll fight again soon.
quality fight and fair play to faber for fighting 4 1/2 rounds with a broken hand
i give em both big ups cause they are each top shelf, but there’s just a new kid on the block and he’s staying for the minute. faber was game as a man with a broken hand could be, but warriors gotta war. regardless, brown’s just too big and strong for him. he basically took faber’s best shit (even though the shot to the top of the dome that broke it still buckled the champ, but faber couldn’t follow it up) and “walked through” and straight to him. anyway…why not three? let him get them hands right in kryptonite or something and let’s see if brown can do like tarver did jones when he asked, “what’s your excuse gonna be tonight…R O Y,” then proceded to cold-cock jones. nice rumble!!!
Incredibly annoyed with how 99% of the commentary was about how Urijah is throwing great kicks and elbows, and how he’s injured and fighting “like a champion” despite a broken hand. Mike Brown is throwing haymakers at will, taking Faber down, and punishing him.
If the broken hand tells us anything, it’s that Urijah Faber’s unorthodox striking has previously unforeseen risks. One we already knew about from the first fight, which is that he can get clocked; maybe a second is that his freewheeling style results in poor punching form and he paid the consequences.
Then again, maybe it was just an unlucky impact. Either way, Mike Brown’s body didn’t break down, and he beat the living shit out of Faber. Well done, and I hope the commentators can get off their Faber kneepads long enough to show someone else some respect, no matter how “boring” a champion he may be.
finally faber is fighting some real competitions and he can’t hang with them. he was beating up all the nobodies before. he couldn’t beat tyson and now can’t beat brown. aldo would destroy him. to flashy for his own good.
you guys hating on faber are just ungrounded.
Mike couldnt finish a man who was not throwing ANY punches in the last 2 rounds. What does that say about brown? he gassed and didnt have the power to finish the job. If you think urijah cant hang? He hung in for 5 rounds with a broken hand. Anyone who thinks either of these guys arent top fighters in their weight class and comments negatively on either of them is a total coward.
Brown is one luck bastard. Got the lucky shot on an over confident faber in #1, and now got lucky with faber breaking his hand/hands in #2. If brown is such a bad ass why didn’t he tko/ or submit faber with his useless hands and improvised offense.
This fight either shows that faber is a bad ass for not getting tko’ed for 4 rounds and no offense, or that brown got lucky again, and there has to be a brown/faber #3.
