This was the most 1 sided TV broadcast I have ever seen by Frank Mir! Mizugaki was definetely getting the better of Torres several times during the fight and Mir would just say, ” Torres is is great condition, and that Mizugaki wasn’t even close to the level of fighter that Torres is.” If there was no sound during this fight and people saw how many times Torres hit the ground and was bloodied up, they would say Mizugaki was winning!! I agree the last 2 rounds went to Torres, but the first 3, Torres got battered.

Mir is one sided, in that he “KNOWS” Torres, he is the champ and the golden boy. However he is entitled to his opinion, and I still love his commentating. Mir should have been a little more unbiased, yes. But the wrong thing was the 10 point system, I’ve seen the fight 3 times now, and Torres absolutely won on the cards. So this would be the perfect fight to showcase on changing the scoring system, since in fight terms, Mizugaki barely, but nonetheless did win this fight, and beat up Torres.

I’m glad it wasn’t just me noticing that shit too. Torres was gettin tagged left n right. I’m a big fan of Torres but I hear what everybody sayin bout the biased remarks. I even bought into the hype before the fight started and thought Torres was gonna end the fight in the 1st round. I was wrong about that and had a new respect for Mizugaki at the end of the fight. Hell of a damn fight though. The Benavidez-Curran fight was the other one. Mir kept goin on and on about how skilled & technical Curran was while he was gettin fucked up by Benevides the whole time – who Mir was BARELY givin props to.

Unanimous Decision? Seriously? Torres was smart enough to out-point Mizugaki in the final 2 rounds, which he definitely won. However I had Mizugaki ahead in rounds 1 and 3. Round 2 was pretty close. I think this fight should have been a split decision. I don’t mind that Torres won, but having a superior ground game on paper doesn’t mean anything if you don’t use it during the fight. From what happened in the fight this should have been a lot closer than the way it was scored. Mizugaki had every right to be upset at the end. One of the best fights I’ve seen in recent memory.

Ya I saw the same thing in the Curran fight as well! Mir was all over Curran’s nuts and he got beat down! Mir must be buddies with these guys because its not fun to watch these fights when the commentating is so 1 sided.

This was the worst possible match up for torres.. That dudes body type was perfect against torres. Torres just wanted to knock him out… wasnt happening. Not to mention the pressure he must have been under prior to the fight. He might have come in there a little over confident.

I noticed the commentary too, I don’t understand why people is just starting to complaint about it. Are you going to tell me that when fedor fights in affliction the commentators don’t do the same. Same thing with silva in UFC.

This was the most nuthugging broadcast ever. I think that Torres did win this fight, but Mizugaki brought it to him and he deserved more respect from the commentary. Good fight.

This was – yet again another 1 sided TV broadcast with regards to the commentators – It should be neutral no matter where the fighters are from but time and time this just isn’t the case. Especially when the fighters are from the Japan.

Good fight though – Mizugaki did a great job.

I’m glad I”m not the only one who noticed the biased broadcasting. Frank Mir was giving undue props to Curran and Torres early on. I thought Mizugaki one the first two rounds and the 3rd was close and I gave Torres the last two. Either way Mizugaki is no joke, and with Torres being the champ I wasn’t that impressed with him this go around. He is 36-1 now so he’s doing something right but I think it showed tonight he still has a ways to go.

This was a War! Mizugaki took 1 and 3 but Torres took 2 and the championship rounds. I am impressed with both fighters but you gotta give it up for Torres. He won the championship rounds. Many fighters can only wish to have Torres’ heart.

Seems pretty clear that some major holes were exposed in Miguels game. Don’t know if it will ever happen, but a good boxer could come along and snatch that belt. And yeah…wtf Frank? Miguel was flailing and turning away and Frank calls it Super Karate Roundhose Manuver. But all that aside, Miguel did exactly what he needed to do, kicked it into gear in the late rounds and pulled out a clear win. Dude fights with all his heart and I give him a ton of respect for that.

this fight was up for grabs in the 5th round … Mizugaki took rounds 1 and 3 and he might have even won round 2 … Miguel Torres kept making the mistake of fading back with his head up and Mizugaki would load up and land the left hook repeatedly. He landed the harder shots and had him hurt a few times … he didn’t win but the judges were biased the commentary was biased … split decision at best and the judges that gave Torres 4 out of 5 rounds were smoking cock!

Agree with “The Black Swordsman”…..exactly how I saw it….at the end of the fight I was like….damn Torres took it, but that’s only because of that 5th round…that was the deal breaker for me…but I was rooting for Mizugaki as soon as I saw him putting it on Torres along with Mir’s superior nuthugging submission hold, he could use that to beat Brock this time around, much more effective that a toe hole.

you guys saying it should have went split decision are RETARDED. A split decision means something is wrong, it means one judge saw the fight differently from the others which means either him or the other two made a mistake. And a unanimous decision doesn’t mean one guy smoked the other, it just means that all three judges saw the fight the same way, which is ideal. The fairest score for a close 5 round fight would be 48-47 unanimous decision.
