Jason is 100% right about Tristar, Zahabi is the canadian Greg Jackson, he is responsible for making fighters who were once entertaining completely boring, just like Kenny Florian when he tried to push BJ Penn up against the cage the whole fight. If GSP wasn’t winning and champ DW would cut him also for the way he point spars and lays and prays. Don’t get me wrong, it is a smarter more effective way to fight and I have more respect for that style as a martial artist than I do for bloody faced, flat nosed, arm flailing retards

I think his move to Tri-Star has been the worst thing he could have done. I don’t think his style and what made him popular matches that gym. Seems like AKA or The Pitt would be more relevant to his style but then again that is my opinion and my opinion is that if you want to be a cautious fighter and their is nothing wrong with that you need to start as one. You can’t take off running as hard as you can and as fast as you can then stop and walk and expect to get the same outcome you either need to start off walking or running but they both get you to the same destination. He is a hardcore hard nosed m*********** and he needs to train and fight that way because it works for him. In my opinion

Both times were about contractual “differences.” Torres was only popular enough to be a big draw when he was in WEC. For some reason, he just didn’t have enough drawing power for the UFC to justify his current salary. So, in the first time they invented a b.s. excuse and now they are using any excuse to force Torres to rebuild his drawing power (by winning in some spectacular fashion)or to come back in a much lower rate than an ex-champ deserves. it’s “business as usual.”
Unfortunately, not much can be done about it. If you like Torres, pay to watch him and he will be back.

Maybe it’s a contractual thing. He probably got a certain rate for each fight when he first signed. Then UFC cuts him to end the contract (and that rate). Wait a little while and you’ll see him resign at a lower rate. Just a guess… would be interesting to see how the business side works.
