Miesha Tate Vs Ronda Rousey On The MMA Hour With Ariel Helwani

I thought this was actually rather entertaining but did more to hype the Tate/Rousey fight than anything (which might have been Ariel and Rowdy’s motive anyway). However, I just became a bigger Tate fan because I want to see her avenge her loss to Kaufman and/or then shut the seemingly impatient and money/fame obsessed Rowdy newcomer up! Having said that, I still like Rousey too and respect her accomplishments in wrestling but she’s gotten to be annoying now.

What is up with Meisha always referring to looks? Has she forgotten that the reason why most of us follow her is because she’s hot and has some skill as a fighter?

Meisha please stop placing your views of yourself and what others have thought of you on Ronda. Also, Meisha people want to see Ronda fight, not just because she is good looking, but because she can kick ass.

Is there really anyone who really thinks Ronda deserves the shot before Sarah, considering everything? It seems obvious to me that Kaufman deserves it more.
I can see why Miesha is annoyed with how the general population sees women fighters, but that is also just the way most guys are & from my understanding she just recently started to speak out against how some girls in mma are being promoted mostly for their looks.
She also kind of contradicts herself too.
Just do a google image search of “Miesha Tate”,
you will see pictures from her photo-shoots trying to pose sexy, grabbing her tits, wearing pants but pulling them down showing her ass & wearing just a bikini and/or bra and panties.
Don’t get me wrong, I have no complaint with that, but if she really felt so strongly about the topic she constantly brings up she probably shouldn’t support the opposing side so much.

I like Ronda Rousey a little less after hearing this segment, she does seem immature (which is expected from a 24 year old who pretty much got this attention overnight & admittedly is for the most part trying to promote herself and her fights) but IMO she needs at the very least one fight in the division before a title shot.

Since Kaufman has a win over Tate and the professional MMA records of Kaufman & Rousey along with Rousey never fighting in the 135lbs weight class before, It is obvious to me who really deserve the title shot.

I hope Meisha pounds her on her pretty little face and shuts ronda’s mouth god she’s stupid as a f ing rock. Ronda’s a biatch don’t like her anymore she doesn’t shut her face ever. By the way she’s not in the UFC haha she’s in strikeforce. Zuffa isn’t the UFC The UFC and Strikeforce are zuffa.

They both have very valid points. Meisha probably shouldn’t have done this if she didn’t want to build this fight, but I’m sure she really does.

I think both make good points, really good points. To break it down simple and easy for everyone, this is my thought….

Whether Meisha wants to admit it or not – its because of Gina Carano and her looks that helped push things forward in womens MMA, and EliteXC taking a chance on that. BUT, once these women step into the cage its about there fighting and skills, there hair is pulled back in cornrows, they wear unflattering tights and mouth guards, they look like warriors and not beauty queens. They all train hard in the respective arts and fight to win.

Weather who should fight who, that a different story and like the said is up to Zuffa, but I can see Meishas take and understand what she is trying to do and I understand Ronda, she has hype around her right now and if she fights Meisha and wins – she basically becomes the new face of Womens MMA – until Cyborg steps down to 135 that is, now there’s a fight!

Sarah Kaufman would beat Mesha Tate’s ass in a boring, “Stop hitting me!” fashion. No one wants to see that.
Mesha Tate vs Ronda Rousey would test Ronda’s ground skills…Who the hell am I kidding, Ronda would work Tate on the ground. The whole devision is filled with boring slow fighters.
Women need to stop playing around and waiting for whose turn it is like they are waiting in-line to use the shitter. This is MMA and Ronda is obviously trying to make women’s mma popular and the only way to do that is to start putting on shows that people care about.

More and more I see why people call Ariel an asshole…he CONSTANTLY is stirring up s*** between fighters. The Sonnen problem of only focusing on getting attention and ignoring protocols is the real issue here. On one level it makes it exciting and fresh, on others, it makes it so EVERYONE has to act like Mayweather…let’s hope its not the downfall of the sport…

Ronda should fight Cyborg if she thinks she’s ready for a title shot. Everyone has overlooked that Ronda wants to drop to 135 to fight Miesha: why is that? If she’s ready to rumble, fight Cyborg.

Cyborg is thinking about moving down to 135, the more i hear from Rousey the less i like her.
