Tate was spared from any broken bones in her left arm during Saturday night’s loss by armbar to Ronda Rousey.

“I had X-Rays last night,” Tate told MMAFighting.com via text message. “No bones are broken, which I already knew. Other than that, I have to get an MRI to find out anything further.”
Rousey’s win improved her pro record to 5-0, with all five wins coming via first-round armbar. Tate’s record dropped to 12-3.

Watching this, D’Alelio should feel lucky and thank Mazagatti for saving her arm. Since that fight, Rousey is “playing for keeps”. How many arms will she have to destroy before she is taken seriously? In future fights, I’m guessing the tap will come way before ligaments avulse and tear or bones break.

Roussey is naturally a big girl. She looked huge back in her Judo Olympian days. She just cut a lot of weight but she is naturally stronger than most of the girls she fights

You know…Props to Rousey and Tate but, like Mir, I’m not really into Pro Athletes PURPOSELY injuring their opponents…kind of dumb. This is their lively-hood and ANY fighter COULD invert a knee or gouge an eye out…I think there’s a level of respect with the true fighters who know when is when. When Matt Hughes (and I’m not a fan) had Royce Gracie in a nasty bar and could have broken it, he stopped when he saw he would HAVE to to get him to tap…so he kicked his ass another way.
I know the Newbies and people who’ve never done it want blood (If you are a fighter and disagree, go to your teacher and tell him not to stop until he incapacitates you…yeah, exactly).

I could tell Rhonda seemed concerned about her arm right after the fight as she kept looking over as opposed to somone like Jones after he dropped Machida, just walked away until Jackson told hi to check on him. It was only until she got up and Rhonda was interviewed that she went back into her ‘character’
