I agree! I would love to see more Asian fighters getting to the pinnacle of MMA but it seems to me that they`ve fallen behind throughout the years and now its too hard for them to catch up with their Brazilian and American counter parts. Some might argue that Okami, Stuntgun, and Korean Zombie are an example of Asian fighters that are at the top. However, are they really title contenders? I mean I`m a big fan of those 3 guys but truth to be told, Okami is coming off 2 KO losses, Stunt gun is doing well but do you think he`s gonna ever beat Condit or GSP?! and the Korean Zombie is sick but I highly doubt he has a chance against Aldo… I hope the Asian MMA scene gets refreshed with some talented new commers or something cause they`re going through some hard times.

I agree, thats why guys like fedor and wand and mirko and rampage dominated in pride for so long. Any one of them could beat any of the others on any given day, but in between fighting each other, the top dominant non asian fighters, lets say its a group of maybe 6 or 8 guys, would run through 3 or 4 asian fighters, who typically werent good strikers, and didnt deal well with the size, strenth, striking and agressiveness of the non asian fighters. This is not a slander against asian fighters, sakuraba is one of my all time favorites, but its just the truth. What asian superstar has come to a western promotion with big strong wrestlers and strikers, and dominated. None that i can think of. And before everyone starts screaming “korean zombie”, lets realize that i wouldnt exactly call him dominant. Even the great (yet still a douch bag in my opinion) shinya aoki does not like to strike and only wins when guys dont prepare, and allow themselves to get submitted. Anyone who is a even average striker, who can keep an aoki fight on the feet, should be able to beat him.

China is very behind in MMA. South Korea has the best asian MMA fighters right now.

Too bad Thailand doesn’t embrace MMA.

there’s good asian mma fighters like korean zombie (who just had a 7 sec KO vs hominick), yushin okami, lyoto machida, stun gun, etc. You just dont get them coming out by the dozens bc its just not that big in asia anymore. after living in china for a year, mma is literally off the map. you gotta be a real indy fanboy to be into mma over there. plus, it’s so polluted that no one has good cardio in the big cities where mma has a chancce.
