Just watched for the 1st time.

Evans clearly won 1st and 3rd rounds and Bisping got 2.

There was some lay and pray but not nearly as bad as some made it out to be…..

Punisher, I sort of agree with your assessment. But, keeping the fight where one fighter wants it doesn’t necessarily equal winning a fight. The scoring criteria definitely needs revision. A takedown is only as good as what you do with it (unless you were able to hurt him with the actual takedown). If you are using effective ground and pound, working for submissions, or improving your position, that’s effective. Rashad really didn’t do much of anything there other than lay in Bisping’s guard and keep him there. However, what did Bisping do? Not much either. He spent most of his time working to get back to his feet.

The reason I had Evans winning is because he won the better exchanges on the feet in the third round with them splitting the first two. 10-point must system is exposed in fights like these where the scoring criteria is anyone’s best guess.

Given how exposed Bisping was in his last fights(I don’t care what the judging at UFC75 said, he got his handed to him for 3 rounds and everyone knows it) maybe he’s the one who should go to the WEC for more seasoning. He looked better with his takedown defense against evans but he still got dropped alot. There are couple of guys down in the WEC who would be a good match for him. If drops to 185 in the UFC, Franklin, Henderson, and Silva are among a few of the guys who would destroy him.

Here’s an idea, why doesn’t Joe Silva book Bisping against Ortiz? Tito has a reputation of running his mouth and getting too cocky and arrogant for his own good. It would be teacher against pupil(Ortiz was his coach on TUF season 3) and that would be an intriguing match up. Most people don’t look at Tito in the same class as guys like Liddell, Jackson, Silva and Bisping has looked like an overrated 3rd rate fighter so it would be a good one to watch.

To all those who complain about these wrestlers who lay and pray, if their opponents could actually sprawl and avoid the takedowns, then wouldn’t the fights stay standing. Often times those accused of the lay and pray are often scoring with some ground and pound and are working their postioning to set up submissions. Those who don’t like the ground and grappling aspects are often the converted boxing fans who aren’t used to seeing more than a punching exchange. The elbows, kicks and knees are a welcome addition but the rest of the puzzle is foreign to them.

The best fighters in MMA are adept at keeping the fight where they want it and in all aspects. We all have our preferences and what looks good to one fan is garbage to another. There’s no right or wrong…it’s all a matter of preference.

well evens sadly landed the more damageing punches evens lay and pray? ok ya but did bis try to get out? ya . could he ? well from wat i say hell no .

@ knees that barely land dont count as good knees he just made it look nice like a opera. just want to see bis or evens take on thiago silva or some ” on a roll guys” like sudokuju or something i dont see bis or evens becomeing a champ any time soon

neither fighter seemed to want to finish the other guy there was no killer mentality it was shit, bisping does not seem to be able to handle the standard jump from cage rage in which he was great to watch

Rashad clearly won the fight. However BORING it was, and I agree, it was boring, Rashad was the clear aggressor, Bisping was just trying to survive. Rashad needs to pick up the EXCITEMENT factor if he wants to be a crowd pleaser.

Well I thought bisping lost the Hamill fight, but the Evans fight Evans sucks all he did after the secound round was take him down lay and pray then bisping got up and tryed to have a striking match but evans didn’t want any because he can’t fight only wrestle and take down bisping is a more well rounded fighter still needs a few things to work on but put more of a show on then Evans that night. Evans needs to go to WEC and not come back.

How can that be a split decesion what I am seeing is the UFC has the worst Judges in the world to say there was a chance bisping won that fight when he had almost no offense the whole fight shows that this sport is not headed in a good direction oh and what happen to hamills rematch Dana White better sit down and start really Questioning how these Judges are scoring these fights or he’s going to start losing some fans IFL anyone?

Hamil got screw when he went over the pond.Iam glad Evans didn’t get screwed also.I think Bisping is a good guy and a good fighter,but his record should be 15-2.
