Damn Stann had him hurt in round one.Stann needs more time to develop better boxing(accuracy,combo’s,foot work,head movement) and he has no grappling defense.Bisping’s chin hangs out there like a ripe tomato on a vine. Silva will be the one to pluck it.Bisping is no threat at all.

Brian Stann looked really slow with his punches. Bisping was definitely faster, but still both were actually slow.

Like Stann said it’s pretty much a tournament of contenders to see who fights Silva early next year. So likely Bisping will be fighting Weidman(sorry spelling) or Belcher next as imo they’re the other top contenders.

This fight was as predictable as a fight can be. Kind of a “duh” moment.
@blow: I agree. The guy has been around since WEC and he hasn’t really improved that much, just dropped weight. He is good, but he will always be that top 10 gatekeeper at the UFC. You beat him, you can get a top 10 fight.
As for Bisping, I say let him fight Weidman. Silva is not coming back to 185 in the next 6 months or even an year. Bisping didn’t show anything at all that says “title contender.”

I didn’t see anything about that fight that made me say “Title Contender”. Bisping ekes out another decision on a largely unimpressive performance.
I like Stann, but he still isn’t quite dynamic enough. He couldn’t capitalize when he got Bisping hurt, and his TDD isn’t quite good enough. What he needs is an offensive grappling game.

First of all, he beat Hamill. I scored it for Hamill, but that wasnt as bad of a decision as people remember it being. Bisping won the 3rd easily and the 2nd was pretty close. I thought his LOSS to Rashad was much more clear cut.
And lets not forget Wanderlei whooped that ass not too long ago. Saved by the bell twice in one fight. It wasn’t close at all and Bisping was basically knocked out to end the fight.
If you can’t handle an older Wand, then you definitely don’t want it with Anderson.

If you think Bisping is ready for Anderson, you’re smoking crack. Bisping has enough skill to GET HIM BY a fight. no KO power, no ground game. He can take you down and do nothing. He took stann down, got points for it and did nothing. He jabbed also and avoided punches. That won him the fight. Are you kidding me? How can you morons think Bisping could ever be champ? @broski – I agree that he didn’t look on form in the Wanderlei fight – although he did land some good takedowns in that scrap. Bisping recently looked strong against Sonnen and actually got him down at the end of that fight. And I don’t understand why everyone calls this bout with Stann a snooze fest. It was a good fight and Bisping clearly won. Bisping actually has decent wrestling now after years of working on it and he also has crazy cardio. He does probably deserve a title shot. He would get beaten by Silva quite badly but he might actually go the distance. Aside from the Hendo fight, he’s shown a lot of durability in his career. FYI – I’m not a Bisping fan cause I think he’s generally a douche but I respect his work ethic

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA some ass hate said they gave the fight to Stann O really? Bisping completely outclassed him and won every round the fight is not even debatable. If you want to assume the punch hurt Bisping bad in the first that is up to you but he was not knocked down or visibly hurt and still outstruck Stann 3 to 1 I honestly have a hard time even finding a round to give to Stann he was utterly outclassed.

I also echo the sentiment that there was nothing impressive in this fight from Bisping that would lead me to believe he’s a potential champ. It’s almost guaranteed to be a workmanlike, close decision with no chance of a knockout. Elite guys finish people, at least some of the time. Beating down B and C level fighters who gas or have no standup does not count.
