He is good, but I think once again Ross ponting will give him a good stand up fight, as he likes to bang

Since when do good fighters belong in the UFC, who the fuck is the UFC?… it just chews up fighters and spits them out because they know there will always be a sucker who will fight for pennies. Fuck the UFC, it’s like a sweatshop for fighters! That’s why Fedor didn’t sign with them, and the only reason why pride fighters went to the UFC is because when the UFC bought pride it also got the contracts for the fighters. M-1 will be a much better alternative to UFC.

Forget the water Fazal Khan… Whatever this guy is on it ain’t in a bottle, but more likely a needle. When’s the last time this guy was screened for steroids?

I’m just wondering, does K-1 test for steroids as frequently as UFC does, or is it like pride?

Not that I’m accusing anyone of K-1 to be on the juice, I’m just curious.

Melvin has like a A body (no homo, lulz) and crazy fast/scary striking.

Disgusting mismatch – the very fact that Manhoef took this fight (against a guy who was 0-4 in MMA) suggests he is a cowardly, arrogant moron. For the other guy, it was a nasty beating to take for (presumably) a few thousand dollars.

Manhoef doesnt need to be taking fights like this against cans with bad records… he needs to step his game up a bit and fight someone whos a challenge.

i agree with dirty 7-30, the ufc has great fighters but definetly uses their brand name to push mediocre fighters as well. As long as they have the ufc brand they can use their hype machine to push guys like roger huerta and michael bisping as championship material when they are not

this guy is a beast.. with some reason power.. but does he have stamina? i dont this aggressiveness would work out too well for a seasoned ufc fighter

Melvin fights at 205, he’s pretty compact though…5′10, like Jason Lambert.

This guy has good fighters on his record, its not his fault that Japan loves putting together mismatches like this. He is a beast though….finishes fights fast…his fight against Cyborg is classic!

Ridiculous. If Manhoef ever wants real respect in the MMA community, he’ll take on a fighter with more wins than losses. Hell, taking on a fighter with ANY wins would be a step up from this joker.

everyone thinks that Melvin took on a can, but Nishijima has a pro boxing record of 24-2-1. It was meant to be a good stand-up war, which Melvin may have lost, but he was smart and took him to the ground, where Nishijima is obviously weak. I agree Manhoef could be fighting better fighters, but Nishijima isn’t the worst out there. 0-4 MMA record, but look who he lost to:

Loss Phil Baroni Technical Submission (Kimura) PRIDE 32 – The Real Deal 10/21/2006 1 3:20
Loss Evangelista Santos Submission (Rear Naked Choke) PRIDE – Final Conflict Absolute 9/10/2006 1 3:24
Loss Hidehiko Yoshida Submission (Triangle Choke) PRIDE – Total Elimination Absolute 5/5/2006 1 2:33
Loss Mark Hunt
