wow!that reminds me on silva vs jardine match.go melvin
One of three fights that wasn’t boring in UFC 86
im happy they showed this uncercard fight, it was much needed after watching the griffin-aurelio and cote-almeida snoozers
the guy is a monster! if he could be more professional and more modest people would like him more. however he’s not doing anything for his career fighting guys that are in this level tier. he’s young and has a record of 39-8-3 (might be 40 now), so he has good experience. there’s no reason for him not to fight the next level up.
i think a fight with sam stout would be good. they both lost to clementi and there both sick at stand up. sam has a great chin, i’d like to see him test it with melvins hands. the winner gets a rematch with clementi.
he s back?beat someone good,then talk shit.
all he needs now is sometype of ground game and then he’ll be a great contender. right now he has yet to beat a good fighter
I am glad to see that Melvin turned his attitude around. He seems like he has grown up quite a bit.
ding
Damn impressive
That was quick…LOL
he looks abit like thiago alves.. fight abit like him too
I beg to differ with jdawg’s comment: One of three fights that wasn’t boring in UFC 86. I paid good money to see a fight not a good fighter beating up a no skilled nobody. I want to see good fighters fight it out. I mean where did they get this guy? From the street? It’s like putting ronald mac donald against bj penn and calling that a good and exciting fight. Wait a minute I take that back that might be fun to watch. But you guys know what i mean.
what a dumbass Dennis Siver was in this fight. You don’t stand up with that guy. Not for one second.
WOW..
HERE COMES A CAN TO SAVE THE DAY!!!!!!!
Too bad the UFC has to resort to using CANS to entertain the viewers!
With all non action that night, I’d be asking for my money back!
They are making the job SOOOOO easy for AFFLICTION!…
let me see…
-fight night on the 19th will a dud…
-UFC 86 was a dud…
-TUF finale was a dud…
-UFC 85 was a dud…
-UFC 83 was a dud.. I’m gassed…
So affliction in reality doesn’t have to try that hard!
And yes he is a MONSTER.. unfortunately only against CANS!!!!
this man is crazy
Im surprised hes still in teh ufc
sorry but melvin is a punk and an average mma figher at best
hes good for sure.. but if the guy yer fighting doesnt see it comin then it exponentially increases the perception of skill… melvins quick but if Silver was ready he could avoided SOME of the damage.. maybe.. not takin anything away from Melvin hes an AMAZING striker man.. real good for sure… Silver doesnt belong in the UFC though,..
I know Melvin personally, and he has turned his attitude around significantly. Also, his opponent was no slouch… you don’t make it to the UFC if you can’t fight. Melvin is just has overwhelming natural athletic ability. Have you ever seen soo much muscle on 155lb.
That dude got rocked!!
durtykurty <<< fucking hater, put your fatass out there..
You thought the Tyson Griffin fight was a sleeper?!
Every Tyson Griffin fight is supremely entertaining and he should have been fighting Joe Stevenson.
Pwnt.
If he can stop doing coke and get some ground game, I think he could be a contender. But he loves to give up his back for the rear naked.
Melvins’s a joke and for sure he’s on roid too. Beating these jobbers means nothing whatsoever, he’s better off back to his hood and sell crack for a living.
How is Guillard still showing up on UFC cards? He’s lost nearly all of his fights. There are guys working their asses off in undercard events, (who are much better fighters), that would kill to have just 1 of the 5 or 6 chances this guy has blown.
He has not lost nearly all of his fights.
He’s 4-3 in the UFC. And all of his losses came by submission. It doesn’t mean he blew any of his chances, it just means he needs to work on his ground game/submission defense.
melvin has potential but must really step up his overall game to hang with the class at 155
When you’ve been in an organization for several years, and have 40+ fights on your record, it’s a little late to be talking “potential”, or “needs to work on so and so”. I realize he’s still farely young but come on….I guess even the lower ranks need gate keepers these days.
