Log in to Reply babel January 3, 2012 I don’t think they should’ve given him the fight for the number 1 contender, especially if he’s just coming off a L. So many other guys in that division that could fight for that spot..! Log in to Reply mr42069 January 3, 2012 title shot my ass! he lost to joe lauzon last time out. ben henderson next title shot. Log in to Reply jointlocker January 3, 2012 I agree. No. 1 contender fight? Sometimes the UFC just doesn’t make any sense with how they move people up their “rankings.” I wonder what JLau has to say about that. Log in to Reply uncledana January 3, 2012 time for an official ranking system. especially now that dana admits he “doesn’t give a rats ass about the fans’ opinion”. they also need to take the belt off anyone who drops out of a fight after the contracts are signed Log in to Reply fightdontbefake January 3, 2012 i put nate diaz past both of them, he already beat melvin anyways (choked his bitch ass). Log in to Reply siafu January 3, 2012 u got trolled mr guillard if u think for a second ur getting a title shot after this fight. Log in to Reply cantbandsnwmn January 3, 2012 melvin could easily give edgar or henderson a solid run for their money. he lost to jlau the same way hominick just lost, they both got too hyped up to fight in front of a home crowd and rushed in and got caught. it doesn’t change the fact that guillard is a freak of an athlete and in my opinion is a top five lightweight. ask evan dunham how he feels about that. Log in to Reply yhedude4 January 3, 2012 yeah he took a dive against Lauzon thats why he’s getting the title shot you morons Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick January 3, 2012 Both top level guys but none of them deserves a title shot yet.ESPECIALLY when they both lost their last figt.I hope they still make Bendo fight Frankie because he is a better fighter then those 2. Log in to Reply fufc January 3, 2012 lauzon and diaz should get a shot before either of these guys Log in to Reply Freedomfit January 3, 2012 I dedided to not even listen to this crackhead and just bash him in the comments:) Even if he ever did become champ, he would lose the very next fight. Besides how do they let a multiple time Crack offender keep fighting…he has been tested positive for crack DURING A FIGHT…little suspension and he’s back, ****ing bullshit!! Steroids and crack will make anyone look “athletic”. Log in to Reply marvelous mad madam mim January 3, 2012 rofl this is not a #1 contender, melvin is flat out lying. no fkin way the UFC told him that. also the reason he lost against louzon is because he isn’t a smart fighter. brains > brawn all day Log in to Reply Dr.Acula January 3, 2012 @kungfulowkick- Frankie vs Bendo has been confirmed as the main event for ufc 144 in japan. OT- Jim Miller 8-1 in ufc and Melvin in his last 9 fights is 7-2. I can somewhat understand this as a number 1 contender since Diaz is just coming off a fight and we don’t know when he will be cleared to fight. I’d like to see the winner of this fight face Diaz and have that determine the number 1 contender. Then again, where does Maynard stand? Log in to Reply 1999 January 3, 2012 i like melvin alot, hes a very exciting fighter. but man you just lost.. REALITY SLAPP Log in to Reply cc January 3, 2012 ufc needs a light weight tournement Log in to Reply Melvin Guil-who gives a sh#t January 3, 2012 Coming off a loss… guys who schooled him in the standup: Rich Clementi, Joe Lauzon, Joe Stevenson, ect… This dude gets a title shot and I quit watching UFC. Not gonna happen gatekeeper. Log in to Reply shocktime January 3, 2012 Too many good lightweights. They all could fight for the title next IMO. You got Guida, Guillard, Diaz, Maynard, Cerrone, Jim Miller. And quite a few other decent names. By far light weight is the most stacked Division. Log in to Reply email@example.com January 3, 2012 Is boringist really a word Melvin? This guys head is so big he forgets he just lost, and he is delusional if he thinks he is a #1 contender right now. Not a bad thing he left Jacksons camp, he did not seem to listen to them. Log in to Reply tobes January 3, 2012 What ever happened to Sean Sherk? He dropped off the map hard. I guess he’s a bit older now. But he would fare well against any of the top guys in the LW division. I agree with shocktime. The problem with the lightweights is that there are so many guys, and no one guy smashes everybody. Styles make fights, and on any given Saturday, a lot of these LWs could win or lose. Even Maynard had a questionable win over Diaz in his title run. Sotiropoulos was making noise then lost to Dennis Siver. Siver was making noise then lost to Cerrone. Jim Miller looked all set to fight for the title then got derailed by Bendo. Dunham was in the hunt til he got knocked out by Guillard. Guillard looked prime for a title shot til he got choked out by Lauzon. J-Lau has a relatively recent loss to Sam Stout. Pettis needs to build back up after the loss to Guida. Guida got his title bid undone by Bendo, who got his title shot taken by Pettis, but then built it back with three legit wins against top LWs. Any given night, styles make fights, MMA math doesn’t compute… Melvin needs this win against Miller and then one more win against a top dude IMO. Diaz should also fight for the title if he gets one more win over a legit top LW. Don’t have them fight each other because then the list of contenders gets shorter. Log in to Reply waiting4titotoberelevantagain January 4, 2012 why to be humble and give zero respect to what Joe Lauzon accomplished. he cleaned your clock you goof….don’t make excuses. Log in to Reply waiting4titotoberelevantagain January 4, 2012 *way* Log in to Reply dznr January 4, 2012 What does he mean, his first UFC loss? He has lost 5 times – 5 times. I do not see how this is a #1C fight, and have not read anything about this being a #1C fight accept out of his mouth. (Bruno have you?) I don’t like him has a fighter, he my be athletic and no doubt a great fighter, but he thinks he is better then he is, he got beat plan in simple by JLau. Diaz and JLau will for sure fight for the title before this clown. I am Out Log in to Reply rza808 January 4, 2012 Lauzon caught him yes? Why is he acting like it never happened? Shiet Guillard is good but he can and did get beat just like every other fighter in the world Log in to Reply mmamike January 8, 2012 some of you guys are stupid ass ****… from doing crack you loose musle and fatigue.. meaning he would look weaker thats why most crack heads are skinny ….and a lost is a lost but just because lauzon won dont mean he cant beat lauzon…. just like frankie egard and gray maynard Log in to Reply Leave a Reply Cancel reply You must be logged in to post a comment.
